So back to the original topic. Per Alan Dershowitz and Chris Christie, yes they are incompetent Christie even remarked he would use castor to show baby prosecutors what not to do. So, as a lawyer.......if you were totally out of your wheelhouse, would money be a sufficient incentive ti make yourself appear incompetent? Money that might never get paid to you? Signing on for this debacle sounds like it would be a career killing move. So why?

So why? a) The incompetent rarely know just how incompetent they are b) There are always, always people out there that will do anything for the right price. I am surprised at how loose people are with their ethics when decent money is involved.

Trump balked at needing to pay $3 million to the other group that balked, so presumably his current lawyers are getting paid less. Ethics aside, if you are a lawyer is $2 million enough to trash your reputation for the rest of your professional life?

Maybe a million is all he needs to retire.

Especially for someone like Trump who thinks only in transactions. If he does something for you, he expects your absolute loyalty for the rest of your life. To him, he single handedly gave three people SCOTUS judgeships and all three should be very firmly in his pocket. In many ways, he’s just like a mafia don.
