The end of the year is nigh! Unless anyone has an objection I will start the 2022 thread on Thursday and we will leave this thread open until Saturday when the mods will lock it. Did you see that Blonde Granny is asking people to list the threads they want closed on the thread titled The usual, or something like that.

Today was paperwork day. I went through the shitepile once again. With selling my house and buying another the amount of paper that has come across my desk this month is horrid. I did find my shredder this afternoon and got caught up with that chore.
DD and family stopped by for a short while this afternoon to drop off my share of the pig we bought. She doesn't have the final total yet but I shouldn't have to buy any pork for the next year. While they were here it drove home the point that I need a good mat for just inside my front door. We got a small amount of snow today but even with stomping our feet outside we were still tracking snow inside.

With all due respect to those that had a tough year in 2021, for me it has been a great year. I got so much of my wish list accomplished, I lost 65 lbs, I spent so much time at camp last summer and I've had a job I love. If 2022 can live up to 2021 I will be very happy.

For my December decluttering goals, I still need to purge three articles of clothing.

So I'm working on my new list... 1. Paint inside my bedroom closets and armour. 2. Wash living room rug. 3. Paint downstairs bathroom. 4. Get on demand water heater then finish laundry room. 5. Do garden and yard this spring.

Well, I did it! I met those December goals. I don't know why it's so hard for me to purge clothing, but it sure as heck is! Now, I'm going to page one of this thread to see what nonsense I set for myself a year ago.

Goal for today, get out of bed. It's 7:25pm! LOL I need to take my garbage out and check my mail.
I have a neighbor who does these things in her bathrobe. It's not attractive! I'll get dressed first.

Okay, it looks like my January 2021 goals were to be more consistent with deep cleaning. I absolutely did not do that! It was also to track what I purged this year. I kind of did that. I'll post those pages from my notebook.

The rate at which we've been decluttering amazes me and we still have Stuff left. Having boxes of it moved down to the newly-carpeted basement and the house deep-cleaned before my brother and sister come visit for New Year's. I do need to hang the curtains and can now do so, because DH found the drill recharger yesterday. It was in the office, in a box, naturally.
How ever did we acquire so much . . Stuff? Every week I throw out bags and boxes of it, donate some to the thrift shop that benefits the Lupus Foundation, and list some for sale or giveaway on the neighborhood list serve. Yet there's always more.
Moving should be much easier after this.

Its amazing what kind of rabbit holes you can get into, when you intend to clean out one shoe box and decide what current shoe box might make the skinny pig a new several day hide. When I am not sleeping enough, but sleeping enough to not quite be hitting the wall, it is easier for me to sort through things and toss them out. In fact, unlike when I am sleeping enough, it gets hard to ignore all the things that annoy me and I want fixed. So, I plan to save some recently current bras in a shoe box and get them out of the way. I had a couple boxes of bras and panties from when I was the size I like to be. It will be hard to rag bag, thrift shop all of them, so I will probably hang on a couple of samples because it will be easier emotionally. I am also working on filing, which keeps turning up oddball papers I need to decide what to do with. Because of shingles, and the pandemic, I have two plus years of medical paper work to file and calc expenses. Time to shower. Skinny pig was on a tear this morning, which started the box search & choosing. I cleaned the box up a bit, but tossing today or tomorrow is in its future. Stuff. You need some of it, but it can be overwhelming to right size and organize.

Chloe - I love your tracking lists! I think looking back at my annual goals is a reason why I am switching to monthly goals.
For December I did finish the tub o'papers and the book Hamilton so feeling good about that! I didn't start decorating until Dec 23rd so I'm going to leave those decorations up for a few more weeks. And the lights that I put up on my fence are going to stay there long term, they add so much brightness at night when the yard is usually too dark to see the dogs.
I made a trip to the store and picked up groceries and some items to restock my cleaning supplies.
The only other things I need to do (which can wait until January) are getting an oil change in my car and taking the dogs in for their vaccines and nail trim at the vet.
ETA: got the dogs in to the vet Thursday and my car appointment for next week. Good to get those off my mind!

I feel the same way.
My sister, niece-in-law and I had this conversation today. The 3 of us. Toddler was sleeping DN1 was on an errand.
None of us thought in March 2020 that we would still be in this mess. I was not as naive as my sister who thought it would be over in 2 weeks. I did think it would be over by now.

I was working in healthcare, so in Feb 2020, we were all waiting for the hammer to drop. By March 2020, I was already hearing that we'd have at least two years of it, but I resisted believing that until probably May 2020. I wish I had known b4 this year though, that we'd have to let the virus evolve us out of the worst of it. I was hoping we'd be done by now, but knew sometime 2022 or even early 2023 was possible. It is exhausting. Chloe, I also love your lists.

Between sleeps last night, I realized I have another place I need to check for medical info, especially stuff from the pharmacy. My filing cabinet is generally full, so I have to weed out frequently, to file. And I got behind in documenting gas & electric bills and then recycling. Found some new stuff I hadn't put away either.

startsmart -- Whenever you start the 2022 thread is fine with me. I will be back. I have been trying to get a few small things done this morning as I am waiting for my new phone to arrive. The old one is barely holding itself together. According to the tracking info it is on the truck to be delivered today. This purchase was not in my plans but since the back of the phone was separating from the front I decided that I needed to replace it sooner than later. I want to run a few errands once it is delivered weather permitting -- heavy rains predicted. Currently I have the dishwsher going, morning chores done, laundry will be done tomorrow. Several spreadsheets have been set up for 2022. Still need to set up the main budget one. It is more than half completed. As usual I have several little projects in the works and a list of others I want to do. I have a list of several "popular" craft show items that I need to bead and I have several ideas that I want to try. Also several other crafty ideas are in the pipeline. I usually don't pick up Christmas until the 6th of January. There may be one or two items picked up earlier but the bulk of the items will not be removed until the 6th. The house feels so empty once the holiday items are down. I do decorate a little for other holidays but not to the extent that I do for Christmas. I do intend to go through some of the items that I did not use this year and donate those. I did not purchase any new items this year so nothing was added to the supplies on hand and I was able to recycle a few as well. TheOtherMe -- Glad that you had some personal time with the toddler. And his family of course. debthaven -- Hope everything is ok. We miss you. finnime -- You continue to make great strides in your decluttering/organizing efforts. Knee Deep in Water Chloe -- Ypu have accomplished a lot with all of the isssues going on in your personal life as well as being in grad school. Give yourself some grace and be proud that you were able to get done in spite of all that was happening. laterbloomer -- Glad that you had a great year. Onward to 2022 Sharon -- I am sure that being closer to the GKids is much easier on you. How are you adjusting to the new area? I am sorry if I forgot to comment on your achievements. All of you are doing so well and I am behind in reading all of the progress.
