Unless you are a very close student of politics, you likely don't know the name Chip Roy.
But the Texas Republican House member did something very worth noting on Sunday night: He objected to the seating of 67 House members -- Democrats and Republicans -- from six states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin) where President Donald Trump and other Republicans have alleged, without proof, that there was widespread voter fraud.
link Good job Representative Roy.

So a few people in a state can decide they don’t like how the majority of the voters in their state voted and can throw all those votes out? Pretty sure that’s not in the American constitution. Maybe he’s reading one of the banana republic constitutions. Or his bigly brain is just making shit up.

Can’t post a link because I’m on my phone but business insider has a story about 9 out of 10 CEOs considering no longer giving money to those republicans who chose to line up with Trump on that.
That’s hitting them where it will really hurt.

Interesting Headline DC National Guard wear black vests to send message as Trump supporters protest Electoral College certificationNational Guard members in Washington, D.C., will wear black vests – in place of their usual camouflage ones ... What is that message you might ask: The black identification vests are meant to highlight a different mission for D.C. National Guard, spokesman Capt. Tinashe T. Machona told Fox News. It is the traditional uniform worn during domestic support operations, including presidential inaugurations, the 4th of July celebration, response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington last year. It is not body armor or a tactical vest.
"It’s different from the camouflage vest, just like this mission is different from other missions we’ve done in the past," Machona said, explaining that each black identification vest includes the guardsman’s name, rank and service "plus the D.C. flag to show our pride in our city." So a non-confrontational message.

A little more drama to add for Washington today: Air traffic controllers receive chilling threat
Multiple air traffic controllers in New York heard a chilling threat Monday in audio obtained exclusively by CBS News: "We are flying a plane into the Capitol on Wednesday. Soleimani will be avenged." The threat refers to Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian general killed last year in a U.S. drone strike ordered by President Trump. It was made on the one-year anniversary of Soleimani's death, for which Iranian officials have long vowed revenge. It's unclear who sent the threat. While the government does not believe the warning of an attack is credible, it is being investigated as a breach of aviation frequencies, CBS News has learned. Sources told CBS News that the Pentagon and other agencies were briefed Tuesday about the digitized voice recording. The sources said they believe the threat was designed to suggest hitting the Capitol on the same day Congress is set to count the Electoral College results. Complete article here: link

MSNBC has a little box in lower right corner showing President Trump speaking to a rally with no audio. Do we really need the audio? At this point, anyone of us on this board could repeat all his whines pretty accurately, including his favorite terms (bigly!) and lacerating his long list of enemies, with the big finale being veiled threats against the GOP congresspeople and Mike Pence. Just think, maybe this will be the very last time he will be unleashing his bullshit in a public forum. Let him retire to one of his properties where he can become the angry man railing at his dinner guests who all paid thousands of dollars to belong to his club.

Can’t post a link because I’m on my phone but business insider has a story about 9 out of 10 CEOs considering no longer giving money to those republicans who chose to line up with Trump on that. That’s hitting them where it will really hurt. Link to article with list of corporations that have contributed in the past: 20 corporations, $16 million, and 138 Republicans trying to subvert democracyBelow is some of the introductory text. The article continues to identify the corporation, how much it contributed, and response when Popular Information asked the corporation if it would continue financially supporting members of Congress who are voting to set aside millions of votes. "But many of the members who are planning to object to the certification of the vote on Wednesday are generously supported by corporate America. A Popular Information analysis reveals, over the last six years, 20 prominent corporations — including AT&T, Comcast, Deloitte, Amazon, Microsoft, and Pfizer — have donated at least $16 million to the Republican lawmakers seeking to undermine the democratic process. To undertake this analysis, Popular Information looked at corporate PAC donations to the 13 Senators who have publicly committed to objecting to certified election results. For the House, the group of Republicans who will object is more in flux. But 126 Republican members of the House supported a lawsuit by the State of Texas that asked the Supreme Court to invalidate the certified election results in four states. So there are 138 Republican House members who have already made clear they support disenfranchising millions of voters. (Roger Marshall (R-KS) was a House member who signed onto the lawsuit but is now a Senator.) The final number may be higher. Popular Information reached out to all 20 corporations and asked if they planned to continue financially supporting members of Congress who participated in this effort."

I turned it to Faux just to see/hear what's going on. Dopey. As much of a circus as the Electoral College foolishness will be today. Pence is just calling it to order.
Just think, as of January 20, we'll never again have to hear "Hail to the Chief" being played for trump. As he's escorted from the White House, a good theme song would be "I Fought the Law, and the Law Won."

Hell has officially frozen over. I'm watching Mitch McConnell speak, and he's actually siding with the law of the land.

Hell will freeze over IF he actually does his job and doesn't impede Biden every step of the way. Biden isn't black so he can't puff up and legitmize himself by showing how the white man puts the black man in his place but he can still milk the fact Biden is an evil liberal t to refuse to cooperate.

Cruz is claiming we need to take a 10 day period to have a bipartisian committee to study whether or not there was any voter fraud.
There have been about 50 legal cases asking the courts to declare the election corrupt, and everyone of them got kicked out of court.
Why waste 10 more days, and subject ourselves to 10 more days of Trump’s whining, when 60% of the the population - and none of the courts - think there was any corruption.
It’s over. The fat lady (or ridiculous Texas congressman) has sung.

so, what Cruz actually wants is a PARTISAN committee to study it, and to that we say.....
FUCK YOU, TED!

Oh I get that, I'm just dumbfounded he essentially said sit down and shut up to his party. Though not quite strong enough if you ask me, but maybe it qualifies for a that'll do pig, that'll do. (And that's a quote! Not calling him a pig, if you interrupt it that way, well that's something I can live with)
