Even as an adult, I will not watch any of the "Halloween" franchise or "Nightmare on Elm Street" or that torture P0RN crap...like "Saw." I can't do Saw either. I do like a good 70's-80's slasher flick though. DH and I will watch them and make fun of them. "Oh, there they go having sex they're going to die! Oooooom that guy is smoking a cigarette so you KNOW he has to go!"

I'd like to see it as an adult I think I would appreciate it more. Labyrinth scared me too as a kid but as an adult I really enjoy the film. The film was PG by the way when released in 1982. I understand why, because it wasn't G and didn't fit the guidelines for something higher than PG. ETA- FWIW, that means I saw it at age 22 or older.

In fact, MOST original versions of fairy tales were NEVER intended for children The Disney version of Cinderella is very different from the original, in which one of the stepsisters slices off part of her own foot in a vain attempt to get the slipper to fit And Hansel and Gretel? The Little Match Girl? Sleeping Beauty? C'MON... In RL some women go to doctors to slice off part of their bones to fit into high heels. Not all that different. At the moment, I wouldn't mind if I could make my second toe a little shorter so certain shoes & slippers would fit about the same on both feet.

I generally avoid horror films, although I saw things like Blood Diamond and some character in a different movie cutting off his own arm to escape after the "good guys" planted a chip under the skin near the elbow.

Yes and Oriental women used to bind their feet to appeal to men And now it's Botox injections and silicone implants

IIRC Stephen King often keeps his monsters vague so the reader can decide what they look like
I can't watch "The Shining" or "It" or many of his early films
Love "The Stand" and "Mr Mercedes" though

I figured I was prepared. I was, sort of. Like many book to film adaptations they change the story a bit for filming. I was surprised and scared in a couple places.

They do a significant amount of the latter. Its really weird to me that many gay men are far more judgy on appearance than straight men are. But at least gay men don't assume they are super attractive simply because they are male like some guys do.

Cinderella told the birds about her mean step sisters, so the birds swooped down on the step sisters and pecked their eyes out. π

When my granddaughter was younger (5 or so) and I wanted to tease her, I would sing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Warthog."

Every year on Christmas at 3 pm the Swedes watch the Donald Duck Christmas special from the 1950s.
Itβs their Rudolph.
