Pumpkin spice sounds awful in Mac and cheese. Pumpkin could be good, though.
It's the weird crossing of sweet & savory foods that turns me off. The spices are paired with sweet foods. The pumpkin itself can be either/or.
Question: do "pumpkin spice" variants of anything contain pumpkin, or just the spices that are typically in pumpkin pie?

I really only like pumpkin for a brief time. A slice of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and then maybe some pumpkin roll which really is a good reason to eat cream cheese frosting. Other than that, I don't seek it out!

I love pumpkin and my favorite Thai place makes a great Pumpkin, Eggplant and Tofu dish and a wonderful Pumpkin curry.
They use the Japanese pumpkin (I guess it's called Kabocha) and it gives it a wonderful taste - now I want pumpkin curry.

I've made pumpkin mac and cheese, pumpkin fettuccine Alfredo, pumpkin soup, pumpkin cookies. All delicious things. I'm not exactly jazzed about Kraft mac and cheese, but pumpkin mac is pretty banging.

There is not ONE can of pumpkin puree in my town! I wanted to make pumpkin bars but every store is out of that! Is anyone else finding that hard to find?
