I’m always seeing ads for really cute clothes and shoes and inexpensive. Multiple companies But when I look at reviews they are always bad , clothes don’t come for months, cheaply made and sizes wrong But the clothes in the ads look really very nice, cuter than in stores so tempting. I’ve been to China multiple times and the clothes and shoes are really cheap. Once bought 6 pairs of leather shoes costing about $6-$8 each. Just now saw some sandals I liked from JaneCloset- same thing, reviews called out as a scam Do any of you see these ads?Anyone ever ordered?

I see the ads, but don’t order. I’ve seen too many complaints containing pictures of what was advertised, and what was received.

If I see an add for something online I go check it on Amazon. If it's there 99% of the time if I decide to order it I order form Amazon for their return policy. (Sometimes it's significantly cheaper to order direct)
I'm trying to avoid fast fashion when I can (combination of getting too old, not wanting to add to waste, and wanting higher quality clothes), but my weird body type (mostly being quite tall) means I need a good return policy. Especially for stuff from China since I'm like a foot taller than the average Chinese woman.

I've been checking Amazon and eBay. Usually they have the same thing. I like different tops. And sometimes I just want something different and I don't care if it won't last forever.

I’ve heard that the sizing is way off from what we are used to . Most run really small . Also , very cheaply made .

I see the ads all the time. I've never ordered anything. I've already got so much craptastic clothing/shoes/novelty stuff I'm trying to wear out I don't need more no matter how inexpensive or "cute" the new stuff might be. OK, last fall I ordered some printed halloween-ish T-shirts from two different ads on Facebook. One of the T-shirts was disappointing but the image was cool and after 3 washes it's now in the craptastic collection mentioned above. the other T-shirts were better quality the image on them was better quality too. I"ve worn/wash them a lot without any issues. Oddly the disappointing Tee was way more expensive than the better/nicer image ones. When I wanted to buy some additional nicer T-shirts I returned to what I thought was the right website - but it wasn't - same kinda T-shirts (and I think the pirated some images) it just felt off... especially when I got to the check out (it wasn't anything like the other time I had ordered). I didn't complete the order. And when I checked my "receipt emails" and went to the right website - I realized the other one was either a scam site or a cheap rip off of the products. I haven't ordered anything other than a Puking Cat Gravy Boat from an ad since the Pandemic started. And I am totally satisfied with the Puking Cat Gravy Boat - worth every penny.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

I’ve heard that the sizing is way off from what we are used to . Most run really small . Also , very cheaply made . This. I've never bought a dress but a school mom did. The dress that came, while cute, fit my then 3rd grader. I'd guess the mom is a size 6 or so.
A former coworker ordered her wedding dress from Thailand. She sent careful measurements to a friend who lives there and was happy to supervise the seamstress and it STILL ended up being tighter than she wanted.

I will not buy clothes on-line unless they specify country of origin and if they're from China I will not buy, period. Two brands I trust are Amour Vert (mostly made in US) and Karen Kane. I get their e-mails with new stuff but then think, why? I have plenty of clothes already. YTD spending on clothing is $40. Zero on shoes.

I’ve heard that the sizing is way off from what we are used to . Most run really small . Also , very cheaply made . Yes! This is what I was going to say. I bought a leather jacket from a Chinese retailer on Amazon. All the reviews said it ran small. I wear a medium/large in shirts depending on how it's cut, so I ordered an XL. I looked like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy. Remember the "fat man in a little coat" scene? That was me. It was also very flimsy. I wouldn't do it.

I ordered several tops from Gamiss a couple of years ago. You have to be careful and look at their sizing tables when ordering. Their sizes are much, much smaller than ours. I got (mostly) good quality clothing for what I paid. Nothing was super expensive so I didn't expect them to be super well made. I've worn them for a couple of years and they're still in good shape.
The biggest issue is returns. Gamiss had a location in the US for returns, but you didn't get credited for anything until it got back to China. I think the US was just to consolidate returns. I had a couple of tops that were smaller than I wanted to wear, so I just gave them away rather than jump through the returns hoops. I think I got 10-12 shirts for $75?

Asian measuring tools are often not up to our standards. I used to work for a company that bought metal castings from Korea. We often found that bolts from US suppliers would not go into bolt holes threaded in Korea. This happened despite the Korean vendor checking hole sizes/threading before shipping. We finally resolved the problems by buying thread gauges and other measuring tools in the US and shipping then to Korea for the suppliers to use.
