Nearly half of Trump's Twitter followers are fake

This is nothing earth shattering, just interesting lighter fluff for 2020. I did not know you could buy fake followers for your Twitter account to boost your number, now I do. Would you buy fake followers?

This isn't the first time someone has pointed out that a good portion of Trump's Twitter following is fake, but what's interesting is that its fakeness seems to be increasing. In January, journalist Yashar Ali ran an audit on Trump's Twitter account and found that 68 percent of his then-20 million followers were real. Now he's at 30 million followers, but only 51 percent are real, which means of 10 million followers Trump has gained since January, about 8.3 million are fake.

Your linked article is from May, 2017.  More than likely the number of fake Twitter followers is even greater than noted in the article.

Now I don't know for fact this also has been applied to trump's account but Twitter has removed fake follower accounts from other Twitter posting accounts.
