Because I'm binging on this today... I've made it a couple times now. Had I known it was this easy (buy the phyllo pre-made), I would have started making it years ago. This recipe adds lemon juice which gives it a lighter flavor than the heavily-sweet versions. It's still sweet, just not cloyingly sweet. I've tried several recipes from her site, and they've all been good. natashaskitchen.com/baklava-recipe/My version with limited cutting choices (made at work...) My last batch was more even. ETA: If you have a pan just larger than 9x13, you don't have to trim the sheets, which makes it easier.

I wish that you had posted this a few days earlier, so that the rest of us could have made it, and brought its delicious crunchy/gooey goodness to others, before this Eid ended.

That looks delicious, love baklava It is. I should have shared more at work, because now I am trying to resist eating most of the tray myself. But, yet again, resistance is futile...

Oh my gosh! That looks just Heavenly! I'm copying that recipe! You will not regret it! ETA: Just bookmark her website, seriously. The schnitzel recipe is also amazing (not a fan of pork chops otherwise).

I love Baklava. Not going to make it just because we have a bakery here that does a bang up job when I want some. And that is the one thing I make sure I get at the Greek Festival every year along with Spanakopit. I was wondering if the Greek Festival will take place this year - a little ways off but will be disappointed if it's cancelled.

I love baklava! I use the natashaskitchen recipe too. Last Christmas I substituted date syrup for honey and used some orange zest, spices, and half pecans and that was a big hit too.

We have over half a dozen asian food restaurants in my little town, with another half dozen Mexican restaurants. I'd love to have just one Greek/Lebanese/donar kabob place/whatever restaurant or deli.

One thing I love about living in a reasonable large port city is the diversity!!

Thanks for sharing the recipe, I can't wait to try it! My FIL keeps offering lots of honey to us and now I know what to do with it other than sopaipallas, lol.

Have you tried Armenian Pahklava? It's made with simple syrup instead of honey so not as sticky sweet. If you make your own you can also sweeten to your taste

If you make your own you can also sweeten to your taste Nope, nope, nope. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and when I do want something sweet, it's usually fruit-based. Even when I go to an Indian restaurant. I tell them in advance..."Don't bring the Galub Jamun at the end of the meal..bring me some orange slices instead." Even as a kid, I didn't like sweets. I had major surgery when I was about 2. There was a big sign over my bed "No Sugar!" The nurses didn't believe my mother at first, saying "All children love sugar!" This one didn't.
