Correct. He said he had one ready to go in 2016. I had a horrible boss like this once. When the corporate people were coming to visit he went around promising everyone everything. Then after they left he forgot everything he said he would do. He got fired, in the end. Thank you for saying that. Ever since the campaigning leading up to the election in 2016 I felt that trump's campaign and his behavior and his past were like horrible employers and bosses that I've had in the past. I thought I was alone and that everyone else must work or had worked for ONLY awesome employers and had fantastic bosses. When I'd mention that trump was like a 'bad boss' I got blank stares. When I'd ask, "so you'd like to work directly with trump? Gee, what would your nickname be I wonder? Would you be worried about getting thrown under the bus when your project wasn't as good as it should have been? Do you have a flame retardant suit for when your boss trump gets angry and starts in with personal attacks? Do you really want to work for such a boss?? " And that was me back in 2016 BEFORE the election... I got more blank stares. I also mentioned he was a bully and was probably an "abusive boyfriend" kind of guy - and that too got blank stares. I guess I've just met some really awful people during my journey thru life while other people got the "nice people" on their path. I have been blessed with only one truly bad boss, but he was the mirror image of Trump. Very racist and sexist, so he blamed everything on our one black manager until he quit, and he didn’t like the female managers to speak in his staff meetings. He actually started having his weekly staff meetings secretly, out in the warehouse, and he only invited the male managers ( we called it Wally World). He was prone to rants and explosive, foul mouthed tirades. He also stole goods and services from the company, and that, plus the fact that he got our branch sued, was what got him fired, not his shitty management skills. Sounds very much like working for Trump, doesn’t it? So I know exactly what you mean.

CNN interviewed the head of the CDC, his Covid Czar, everyone. Nobody knows anything about a new healthcare plan. Trump has been promising a tremendous new healthcare plan since 2016. There isn't one. The only people who believe that are his knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing supporters.

Donald Trump's new health care plan has been 2 months away for 15 months nowIn June 2019, President Donald Trump promised that he was on the verge of unveiling a "phenomenal" health care bill.
"Yeah, well, we'll be announcing that in about two months. Maybe less," Trump told ABC's George Stephanopoulos at the time, adding: "You're going have the greatest health care that anybody's ever had."

TBH: Hasn't trump implied all along that his (and the GOP's) fabulous healthcare plan is:
"Retain employment with an employer who offers healthcare and pay for healthcare that way." So beautiful.
"If your employer doesn't offer healthcare and you can't afford to pay for healthcare coverage on your own - you don't need healthcare!" So simple! (and this has the added benefit that employers can phase out offering healthcare if offering it effects their bottom line too strongly. I'm sure corporate America is looking for ways to only offer paying for healthcare for some of it's employees - while others will be offered the opportunity to buy healthcare with no financial help from their employer. So simple! )
"If you are unemployed and can't afford to pay for healthcare - you don't need healthcare!" So elegant!
Surely this is the most beautiful plan ever!

He’s having the same problem with the vaccine. He keeps saying it’s two weeks away. Today, the cdc said the earliest we could role out a vaccine would be 9 months. Trump immediately insisted they were mistaken, it would be here in two weeks. I’m certain the game show host has a better grasp of biology than the CDC.

have ANY of his public declarations been correct on this?
I guess he still has the 100-240k in his pocket for now. but that will be wrong by election day.

I am super surprised the corporate world hasn't gotten behind Medicare for all. Insurance costs them a frickin' fortune. And it is a total pain on their collective ass. They could the expense and the people who manage it. Sure, a little more in taxes. But that doesn't effect EBITDA, which will go up.
I am also surprised at small businesses not getting on this. Healthcare on the open market is expensive, and if you want to hire a few people, it would be easier if you didn't have to offer them benefits to compete for the best employees. Also, if you wanted to slip from the magical "under 50 employees" threshold, if we had government sponsored care, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Is this like how he said all those nice things about Covid19 -- so he wouldn't panic people? Is he just saying nice things so the American public doesn't panic about this, too? Is there a trump Translator online for those of us who have trouble understanding what he's sayingMy default Trump translator is the Boolean NOT function. Just negate whatever Trump says - that's actually the truth, or what he means. Unless he's talking about someone else - then swap his name in for the other person. If he says so-and-so did <something bad>, Trump is actually admitting he did <something bad>.

My Trump supporter stepdaughter has three girls of dating age and one more who will get there. I want to ask her, "If one of your daughters brought home a guy who behaves like Donald Trump, would you encourage her to pursue the relationship further?" Except considering her choices over the time I have known her, ... I suspect the answer would be that it depends on if that guy has the same amount of money as Trump- which in her head is probably billions.

Yesterday on Twitter there were pictures of the Bidens and their dogs. Everyone was commenting: Ooh, a dog back in the White House! Yeah, best reason to vote for Biden, he's a dog lover! Trump hates dogs, dogs hate Trump, tells you a lot about a person...

2 more weeks.... "The President in the next week or so will be laying out his vision for health care. Some of that has already been put out there -- telemedicine and lowering the cost of drugs ... and protecting pre-existing conditions. But the President will be laying out some additional health care steps in the coming, I would say, two weeks," White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Tuesday when asked if the President's health care plan exists. Vice President Mike Pence told CBS News Tuesday that Trump's health care plan will include taking executive action to guarantee Americans with pre-existing conditions must be covered by health insurance -- even as his administration works to dismantle those same protections under the Affordable Care Act. "The President's also been very clear that we're going to make sure that any American with a pre-existing condition continues to have coverage," Pence said. "The President's going to take action in the weeks ahead to ensure that and we're going to continue to take our case to Capitol Hill to pass a new health care reform bill." cbs58.com/news/white-house-again-promises-health-care-plan-roll-out-in-coming-weeks

The one with my GP was pretty worthless. the one with my Endocrinologist was a follow up to a medication change, so Telemed was an OK option, but some of the normal parts of an exam were lacking. I think it is fine for it to be an option, but would not want it to be a major or only option in a health care plan.

When people whine about pre existing conditions he’ll deny he ever said he’d keep them. We’re all suckers, to Trump. A problem is people assume that "pre-existing condition" only means something to certain people. We see it regularly on the boards that it is meant for fat people, disabled people, people with diabetes, pretty much anything we can judge people for and claim we don't have. YOU won't be affected by that clause being removed because you are a good moral healthy person. The thing is I have relatives who've worked in insurance for 30+ years, insurance companies had an ENTIRE DEPARTMENT devoted just to combing through your medical records to find a reason to deny your claim. If they couldn't find it there they would go through your FAMILY history to find a reason to deny your claim. My mom knew someone, who worked in health insurance no less, who was denied coverage for an emergency hystorectomy because the insurance company told her that according to her records her MOTHER had a history of menstrual problems therefore the reason she had to have one counted a pre-existing condition. Yes this was 100% legal. Yeah that is what we will go back to. The people that crow that this will be a good thing because all the fat people and disabled people will be removed just haven't had the fortune of the insurance company finding the right hook to deny their claims. It's really going to hit all those elderly white people who don't want others on their health insurance. Decades of medical records are a gold mine for claims denial.

I think it is fine for it to be an option, but would not want it to be a major or only option in a health care plan. I had a phone visit with the GI doc yesterday. He was on call at the hospital and his staff wedged me in. We got disconnected once and he was like 40 minutes late. I was working from home so the time wasn't an issue. My doc wanted me 'seen' stat so we all worked around what we could.
I've had 2 video calls with my doctor this summer. Because of a blood clot and breathing issues, she ends up telling me to come in. She can't properly assess blood clots and some other issues over the phone/video.
I think phone calls and video calls are a great addtion but aren't going to replace in person visits.

Trump’s top advisers, while striking an upbeat note before his event in North Carolina, demurred when asked for the details on how the President’s new plans would become reality. “It is what it is,” Azar said. time.com/5893032/donald-trump-health-care-plan/

Well....at least citizens are a tiny bit protected. I guess. I know it is terrible, but I am afraid the only way to fix healthcare is let Republicans blow it up completely.

Addressed today during the Leslie Stahl interview. Leslie Stahl brought it up that he'd not shared the plan. Trump answered that it's written. Says he won't release it until "we know what happens with Obamacare". Promises that people with pre-existing conditions will be covered.

Kayleigh McEnnany gave Leslie Stahl "the health care plan". It was a large box. Leslie Stahl says that it doesn't actually include a plan.

My guess is SCOTUS will not overturn Obamacare until there is a replacement plan ready to run the moment they rule. SCOTUS may even want to read trump's plan before ruling. Leaving 20 odd million Americans without any health insurance would make SCOTUS look bad. John Roberts would not be happy with that picture at all.

The republicans are like the dog that caught the car. They have wanted to overturn the aca. Now that it might actually happen, they don’t know what to do. And they have no plan, because the aca was their plan
