Yes, stay safe....some areas getting 6" of rain per hour or more...90mph winds....possible life threatening storm surge. Was watching parts of a pier come apart in the waves as the eye was hitting land.

I have never been in a Hurricane. Luckily I suppose. Hear is some additional news.

You don't really ever want to be in one either...voice of near experience here. I haven't been in one full on, but I have been in the residual that kept coming thru our area. 70mph straight winds can do as much damage as a tornado. I've been on the edges of tornados too, when I still lived in Ill. I have not experienced an earthquake large enough to really feel even though I did live in the LA area of Ca. for 3 yrs. back in the 60's. But we had a tornado when I was out there...in the Inglewood area. A hurricane feels like it's never going to stop....they are still going to get pounded all night tonight & tomorrow too in the S. Tx. area. I think the Gulf coast areas need to keep an eye on the one headed into the Caribbean...it may end up in Tx. also....haven't seen a cone projection that far for it yet.
