So my Florida county mandated masks two wks ago (I think it was only 2 weekends ago not 3) and from what I've seen people are pretty good about it. The construction guys at my building aren't the greatest, but it's hot as fuck so I ain't yelling at them. Saw one guy in the grocery store without it today. The youngins in the line for trader Joe's didn't but the line was 6 feet spacing and the mask went on before they went in as tj requires it. The country only just now required it and last time I was over there it was only about 50% or so from what I saw in stores that didn't require it. Went to the beach today in another county and it was a bit higher than 50/50 when I went to get a pub sub for lunch - pretty sure that country isn't requiring it. They've kept their beaches open and no masks on the beach but where I was I had way more than 6ft of space. It looked more crowded down by the popular spots though. Hate to see it this weekend though. 😬

I think he will confuse some of his followers. They may not know what to do. Will be interesting what the governors do now I don't see Trump as a "leader" with followers. I see him as being skillful at being a very loud voice saying and doing what (some) people want to say and do themselves. I think Trump will play the victim, letting it be known he is wearing a mask at times because the evil press is hounding him, just like the evil Democrat governors are forcing freedom loving Americans to wear them. A sign of solidarity with his base.

Trump can be manipulated. Too bad they have chosen not to use that piece of information through his whole presidency. I've always been confused that no one seemed to be manipulating him effectively. He flip flops positions constantly, and has no consistent motives. It would seem like he could easily be herded by a flatterer who could spin things well. Either he's too unpredictable for this to be effective, or they ARE manipulating him, to produce chaos. The Trump chaos is a smokescreen for whatever they are doing behind-the-scenes

You can get a young child to start picking up their room by telling them they are a good kid but when you go back in five minutes they are playing with some toy they had picked up intending to put it away.

The shift has begun: “But I’m all for masks, I think masks are good,” the president said, adding that he has been seen wearing one in situations where he was in a group of people.
“Usually I’m not in that position,” said Trump, who noted that “everyone gets tested [for Covid-19] before they see me.”
But “I’d have no problem,” Trump said. “I had a mask on, I sort of liked the way i looked.” link He said it made him look like The Lone Ranger. I think he's wearing it wrong.

Look.at how huge of a distraction Trump is. He takes up every news site anytime he Twitters. Now go and look.at how many rights the legislature has chipped away at and how many environmental protections they are busy stripping. I catch a brief blurb and then back to.Trump. He's the perfect left hand to distract from.the right hand. I've said it before Trump is Jar Jar Binks. McConnell is Palpatine.

Republicans are openly contradicting him. He has lousy approval ratings on how he is handling Covid. He thought he could cover it up and it would be gone by election day, but as it turns out, we will be in this mess for awhile. He needs to get back some credibility on this, and he can't do it by insulting Fauci. I've always been confused that no one seemed to be manipulating him effectively. It's funny - when I read the first set of quotes, my immediate thought was of B-mod and child rearing. Training Manipulating children Trump into doing what you want him to do, by reinforcing the behaviors we want to see from him, and ignoring the behaviors we want to extinguish in him. He acts/thinks very much like a toddler, so I naturally think to treat him like one. It feels very much like the rest of the government are the idiot parents who don't know how to do this with their children, and have created the tantrum meltdown monsters. Those children have turned the tables, and are effectively manipulating their parents instead.

Former 2012 Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is receiving treatment for coronavirus at an Atlanta-area hospital, according to a statement posted to his Twitter account. Cain, a contributor for conservative media outlet Newsmax, was hospitalized Wednesday "after he had development symptoms serious enough that he required hospitalization" and was informed Monday that he tested positive for the virus. Cain posted a photo of himself at the Tulsa rally, seated among other attendees without a facial covering. www.cnn.com/2020/07/02/politics/herman-cain-coronavirus/index.htmlDumbass.

Oh, that's brilliant for contact tracing - he's been all over, throw up your hands, no idea where he got it. How about - everyone who went to any of those events has been exposed, must be tested and quarantine, period. Everyone.

I don't wear a mask outdoors, but always indoors. I'm not worried about a tiny bit of exposure out where it quickly dissipates. I don't live in a crowded city, but a quiet suburb where it's easy to keep a distance.

And while we're at it, send the same tape to his little virus buddy here in FL, his dear friend, our own Governor "Go Screw the Scientists" DeSantis. His little southern lapdog just loooooves his president and follows everything he says with his own idiot version of same. I can't mandate statewide mask use. I don't like that your county closed your beaches. You're slowing down our economy by not moving forward with reopening. The number of sick and dead are accurate as I provide them; pay no attention to the real numbers. Every time I see him on TV, I want to whack his wonky butt right off a podium.

And the "freedom fighters" are resisting mandatory mask usage in my county, one of several counties in my state being sued by these idiots who think their oxygen and their rights are at stake by being forced to wear one. Yeah, your liberty is greater than the majority's right of survival, eh? I'd like to send all of them over to Palm Beach, no masks and no social distancing allowed, and raise the drawbridges. Or to Peanut Island, and leave them there. Go breathe on each other, and see how long you last. Leave the rest of us alone.

I'd love to see these "freedom fighters" and people carrying signs claiming "My body my choice" to have a sudden epiphany about what those phrases actually mean but that would never happen. Oh the freaking irony when watching these people. So thoughts and prayers to those poor white men and woman who are facing such horrible discrimination. I will pray for those white men that the government will recognize and protect their body autonomy.

I'm still keeping up with my former Florida community. They're now requiring masks at all stores, and also outside if you're going to be less that 6 feet away from others. Of course, there are a few whiners, but most who actually live in the community are following the rules without complaining. The county has had a low level of COVID-19, compared to the rest of the state, but the local hospital only has 8 spots in the ICU, and 6 are already filled. I'd hate to be a family member fighting to get a loved one into one of the last 2 spots.

What do you think of those face shields? Where do you get one of those? you can make one pretty easily- but any machinery supply place should have one too, like Harbor Freight.

What do you think of those face shields? Where do you get one of those? If I am not mistaken, the face shields are medical PPE equipment and should be reserved for medical workers. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

they only afford protection against airbourne pathogens if you wear them with masks.
they DO, however, protect your eyes against flying objects- which is why they are far more common in machine shops than hospitals.
