A little overly dramatic to me. The reality is that being in the icu is not pretty for any disease, and except for 3 and 6, is not unique to COVID-19. Most patients who are critically ill have tubes coming out of all their orifices. This disease has some unique features, but again, most diseases are like that as well. The part that was most disconcerting was the length of time people took to get better, and the lack of efficacy that our usual treatments had.

None of it makes me want to get rid of my DNR. That's for sure.
