Is it possible that Trump actually wants COVID to worsen in order to cause election disruptions that might give him an edge?
Scary if true.

Wouldn't put it past him. He's made very clear that he doesn't care about anyone but himself.

I think he’s just an advocate of the power of positive thinking. He decided the virus was over, he did a phenomenal job in defeating it, and now it’s gone and he no longer cares to waste time thinking about it.
Doesn’t matter what data shows or experts say.
He got married the first time by Norman Vincent Peele, if I’m not mistaken.

I think he doesn't like to deal with things that are hard. And this is super hard. He is a terrible president.

"Know when to walk away from the table." The Art of the Deal
link This applies to both negotiations and declaring bankruptcy. Walking away is something he did in business and with his marriages. He did it as President with healthcare and North Korea. Now he is simply attempting to do it with the pandemic. It just working this time.

I assumed Trump was "indicating" that he was "for" the little guy - as in people in small towns and rural areas - as in places with lower population densities. Big Cities tend to vote democratic and also tend to have more covid19 cases/deaths.
I'm sure the "shelter in place" and "closing of businesses" seemed silly and absurd to people living in places beyond the Big Cities (and their suburbs). No one was sick... how could there be a threat? Those are often "Red" counties.
I suspect this is Trump trying to cast that image that he's just like them... a business man, trying to give his family the "good life" despite what the "social democrats" and "liberals" would have do (stop all work and let the poor "business men" starve for the greater good).

It’s now “radical leftist mobs”.
