Now that just about everyone has told Trump he can't call in the military, he went on Fox and told them that he absolutely had the power to do whatever he wants, including bringing in the military, but he won't because he just doesn't need to.
Smooth....

I am heartened by leaders who are expressing their desire to uphold constitution and integrity... and concerned at minimally trained paramilitary groups we aren’t sure if the origin with no numbers or names being used heavily in DC...

I heard they brought in prison guards to help guard the White House? Anyone else hear that?

I saw a lot of tweets about the no-uniform, no-badge armed individuals in DC. Lots of speculation about who they were and who they are loyal to (paid by?), because when asked what branch they belonged to they'd only say something vague like the govt, or the justice dept. Former military could eye them up and immediately say they were not real military (dirty tennis shoes, under armour shirts), but had thousands of $ worth of tech equipment on. How easy would it be for a militia group to just drop in and take up a stance, and no one has any idea who they are or where they came from.

If weighing taking a human life (plus the risk I may harm others if I miss or end up having my own life taken) against property damage and deciding it's not worth it makes me a disgusting human being then I am all right with being a disgusting human being.

that's very scary. One (or more) of those sort of military guys that fires into a crowd (cause we all know they've been trained to take verbal abuse from protestors and maybe even take having bottles or shit thrown at them) and this all really does become something more than just protests and rioters/looters.
I am concerned that the White House would opt to use untrained in crowd control ARMED people to defend it.
Maybe it's time to start reminding the Boomers of their past....and what they all once fought for...

Maybe the WH hired some of Erik Prince's mercenaries?
Last I heard Prince was trying to sell their services in China... maybe since our relationship with China has gotten a little chilly the deal fell thru and he's got a lot of people with nothing to do.

Ed Chris thought the death penalty was appropriate for property crimes. There is apparently video of police slashing tires during the protest in Minneapolis. Wonder what he thinks the punishment should be for them?

Not sure where to put this so I’ll stick it here- cop who knelt on Floyd s neck unto he died also voted illegally in Florida where he owns property but does not reside.
Twice, 2016 and 2018- voted GOP.
Maybe we’ve finally uncovered the voter fraud Trump claims exists?

I started this thread and am honored to have the link to the pictures posted here. EDIT: should also say that what they represent is a wonderful part of The Insurrection.

Thanks Bills, for those that don't know - Wisconsin is a Republican State (kinda purple though). Madison is the State Capital, but Madison and Milwaukee are both considered Democratic. Madison is pretty Liberal and home to the University of Wisconsin. I suspect the boarded up stores are mostly on State Street - maybe giramomma can tell us, she lives there and works for the University Extension I think.

Some inspiring art work, bean29. I especially like the unbroken line art piece. Thanks for posting the link.

These really look like the graffiti that we saw on buildings on Chile. Most of it during the riots that was going on.

A key element of the systemic racism that has flourished since the Civil War. Her next recommendation was the movie American Son. Bring some tissues. Then Fruitvale Station, although I expect most ‘woke’ members have seen that. The Dubettes are social justice warriors now!🥳
