Val Demings for VP?

Anyone know anything about her?...I don't.

Joe Biden's making a play for Florida, bolstering a House Democrat's case as a vice presidential pick.

Rep. Val Demings, 63, has represented parts of central Florida near Orlando since 2017, after almost being the city's first woman police chief for three-and-a-half years. Following a high-profile turn as a House Democratic impeachment manager charged with prosecuting the case against President Trump during his Senate trial, Demings is now in the mix to become Biden's running mate for November's general election.

"She is one of a group of close to a dozen really qualified and talented women who are on the list," Biden, the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee, told an ABC Orlando affiliate this week of Demings. "It's going to take six to eight weeks to get that moving and to get through it. But she's a very competent, very capable person.”

Demings has welcomed the speculation, saying she "would be honored to serve alongside Joe Biden and do everything within my power to get this country back on track."

"Having served as a social worker, a career law enforcement officer, police chief, and now a member of Congress, I chose tough jobs," she told MSNBC. "We're dealing with a tough time right now. We're in the middle of a crisis. I've dealt with crisis before."

he might be able to do better.

but let's face it- if Biden wins Florida, he win the election.

It also wouldn't pull anyone out of the Senate....that's my biggest worry...keep all the Democrats possible in the Senate so we can get the majority.

I just read the WashPost article on her today as a potential VP pick. I don’t love her age, especially as Biden is so dang old, but there are a lot of things I do like about her as a potential pick.
