This article echoes what I've begun realizing this past week...if my state reopens, my family and I are in a privileged position to decide to continue sheltering in place. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/04/trump-trading-lives-poor-economic-growth/610264/?fbclid=IwAR2dzR-ouNKMBDRGRcd8BGRIwjBGI2Mbwzh0FfcPKtea71WdznT5g0rWTO8 The administration has two plans for the next six months. It is implementing them at the same time. They reinforce each other, and each can replace the other if either fails. Plan A is the Chernobyl plan: trading higher human casualties in hopes of a triumph for the central state. The political calculus of Trump’s Plan A depends less on containing the total number of casualties than on confining the casualties to people deemed expendable. What if reopening leads to a surge in deaths that cannot be politically contained? In that case, Trump reverts to his Plan B: a culture war against Democratic governors and blue states.

Yep....exactly right. He comes out Thursday with guidelines for reopening the economy. Friday, starts his "liberate" tweets with Democratic governors. He does not acknowledge that Republican governors are saying there is not enough testing kits...just the DEMS.
He's not going to be happy till he can sit back and watch a civil war on Fox and Friends. It's all a reality show to him.

California is going to say "fuck you". we are going to follow our own time table.
he wasn't there when we needed him, and we are not going to be there when he needs us.

ARGH! WA just had a rally of 2000 yesterday (including GOP reps) and the pictures in the paper make me think that we are likely going to be seeing a spike in cases soon. Dumbasses.

And we had been doing so well. All the way from #3 to 14th on the number of cases with a couple more states poised to pass us soon.

It may be the only way to get through to them is for a bunch of them to get sick from their antics. Unbelievable to act the way they are. There is no excuse for their actions.

I read the article and I dunno. I think such Machiavellian plans are way outside of Trump's abilities and wheelhouse, unless he truly is a pawn in the intricate game of some sort of illuminati, but I don't think Trump would ever consent to that because he's such a stable genius who is unsurpassed in his ability to call the shots. I honestly think it's more likely that we're seeing a bunch of impulsive, knee-jerk reactions from an extremely flawed half-wit than we are some sort of devious master plan if only because ooh look...a butterfly!

I still think he ran for president thinking it was the biggest popularity contest of all time. He ping pongs because he has no internal drive and so his actions are based on the whims of over 3 million people.
