I might have used slightly stronger language 😜 ... it’s ok. I have seeds and it’s early yet 😊

I got the poor pansies transferred to pots. When they look a little less pathetic I'll transfer them around front.
Need to plant peas. Might be too late but oh well. I bought the seeds and there's 2 bags of garden mix in the back yard. I can steal some of the various buckets laying around from the patio job.

I saw pepper plants advertised at a green house but I feel like it's too early for those.

All the cannas that I transplanted about two weeks ago have sprouted and are about a foot high already. If the weather stays warm--and it should--they'll be blooming in about six weeks. There are 15 of them at the edge of the garden that will be a sort of yellow, orange, coral, and red "fence." That is, it will be if the @!#$%^&*! leaf rollers don't get them.
I freaking love cannas!

My pansies look much better this morning. I will move them around front today and give them more water. They were bone dry when I transferred them to pots.

Down here pansies are a winter flower. Mine are almost done for the season. In the garden centers they're being pushed so that they can be rid of them all, and they're "on sale." It's easy to spot people who are new to the area when their carts are full of pansies, ornamental cabbage/kale. Little do they know that in less than a month, the pansies will be dead and the cabbage/kale will have gone to seed.

My seedlings have croaked. Frost? Cat, and I probably messed up something somewhere. But they looked great until I caught her grazing on them so I can firmly say she's the cause.

raeoflyte There's a product called Critter Ridder that you comes in either granular form or in a spray bottle. Smells awful, but keeps the critters away. Spray or sprinkle the plants and the area around the plants.

I planted a redbud tree last year, watered faithfully and enclosed in wire cage to stop deer from nibbling.,Still no leaves and thinking it’s dead

Spray or sprinkle the plants and the area around the plants. These were inside. There's no planting outside yet. No other window gets enough light and with 2 kids who need a dedictated school place a table was put in front of said window. With the plants on the table the cat suddenly had easy snacking access.

Oh. Well, considering the odor of Critter Ridder, I definitely wouldn't recommend using it indoors!

Miss Rigby, Curious if you have ever heard of or been to Grower's Outlet in Loganville, GA. They are a gardener's paradise.
It's 50 miles away from me, and that's probably a good thing. There's a Pike's Nursery right next door to Home Depot, but they are usually way too pricey for my pocketbook. You made me look gacpa I am thinking of going to the Grower's Outlet next weekend. It should take me just over an hour to get there. I love gerber daisies and they have packs of 10 for 20 bucks. I'm also looking at the gardenias.

My tiny little plants are doing well so far. I was thinking about moving a couple of them outside this week (keeping them in containers) but now I’m scared to even go outside.
Hopefully they’ll be ok in the window for a little longer, until I get my nerves together and find my big girl panties.

My Zinnias haven't sprouted - thinking it's time to try again. I have plenty of seeds left that I harvested. Will likely try to use ziploc bags taped to window to get even more sun and condensation.

My little dog helped me plant a bunch of sugar snap peas and garlic yesterday. We also pulled weeds from the flower bed.

The seeds in my little all-in-one packet haven’t sprouted. I’m pretty sure they should have by now. It’s rosemary seeds. I haven’t been the best seedling caretaker since I got distracted, so oh well. I have a packet of the same set up in peppermint, but I didn’t try to start it yet. I’m content to play with my little starter plants for now. They’re still looking good except for the one cilantro that DBF took out on the deck with him the other day. I had to turn some of them today, they were already growing toward the sunlight. Idk if that means something in terms of whether they’re getting enough light or what, and I don’t feel like Googling it right now. I also managed to buy some chamomile that I’d forgotten I bought, and don’t even know why. After reading a bit about it today, it seems that I should get that one out of the house ASAP because it’s not a good indoor plant for people with allergies.

@pinkcshmere the back of the seed packet should tell you what you need to know about sowing and growing...sun, shade, water, how long until germination, etc.

@pinkcshmere the back of the seed packet should tell you what you need to know about sowing and growing...sun, shade, water, how long until germination, etc. It does. I’ve followed the directions, and it said 7-10 days. It’s been more than 10 days now. It probably didn’t help that the dog kept knocking the little plastic cover off that’s suppose to help with the “greenhouse” effect or something or another. A couple of hours ago, I found the cover under one of the kitchen chairs when I was sweeping. The only reason I’m not irritated that she keeps getting in the window, moving stuff and knocking that plastic thing off is because she’s my new best friend since we would’ve never known about the first you-know-what and been on the lookout to even see the second one, if not for her raising hell with the first one. A couple of the baby plants I bought were rosemary, so I’m not really mourning the loss of the seeds that failed to sprout.

We spotted little baby cherry tomatoes on one of our two plants today. And the Thai basil is coming back to life with lots of little new leaves. The cayenne peppers seem to have survived transplanting into big pots.
