I see this type of personal attack on President Trump for something he can't control as dangerous to the long term survival of our country, i.e. will help get him reelected. He does not deserve the full blame for those numbers just as he did not deserve the full credit for the previous low unemployment rate. And that is what is legitimate to point out.

Well if the evil democrats would just let him reopen society then his numbers would skyrocket. I bet the unemployment rate would actually be a negative number!
I seriously believe this is why he is pushing so hard for everything to open in two weeks. Not because of any actual concern about the spiral into the next Great Depression (because after all he and his cronies would still be just fine) but because all he has to hang his hat on is unemployment and the stock market.
I don't think the president is responsible all that much for either number. However TRUMP does and that is what makes him dangerous right now, IMO. He has no internal values, it's all externally driven. Someone who is so desperate to be popular is not going to be capable of making tough decisions. It's all fun and and games when you inherit a strong economy. It's not so easy to lead during a crisis. You need someone who has the internal fortitude to do what is best for the nation as a whole even if it means he loses his precious base.

I know it's not his fault. I just loathe the fucker and want to needle him for taking credit for things that he had nothing to do with. Now he can take some blame. I see the irony in Trump claiming everything he does is record breaking. Now that he actually does have something record breaking happen during his term, it's not what he was expecting. My posts about this are only here, with the "relative" anonymity. I'm bored. LOL.

The job losses aren't really Trump's fault. This would have happened no matter who was in charge.
What Trump WILL be responsible for is the outcome. What America looks like in 12 months or 24 months. That's all on Trump (and his administration).

Facts Americans need to remember November 3rd. AP FACT CHECK: Trump says he always knew virus was pandemicWASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is revising history as to how he described the dangers of the coronavirus as it swept across China and showed early signs in the U.S. “I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic,” Trump insisted last week, adopting a newly somber tone about the crisis enveloping the globe as he urged Americans to work from home and prodded the nation’s cities and states to issue restrictions to promote social distancing. "I've always viewed it as very serious.” But his claim doesn't match his rhetoric over the last two months before the World Health Organization declared the virus outbreak a pandemic. Trump instead repeatedly claimed COVID-19 was under “control” in the U.S. and suggested it would incur little economic damage, possibly disappearing magically by April. He now acknowledges the outbreak could stretch until August with a possible recession along the way. Trump's statements came in a week of inflated expectations by him about an end game to the coronavirus crisis. He suggested that a drug to treat COVID-19 was at hand and that automakers would be able to manufacture medical ventilators “fast” enough to help fill an acute U.S. shortage of the medical equipment for patients. Neither of those claims is true. TRUMP: “I've always known this is a — this is a real — this is a pandemic. I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic. All you had to do is look at other countries. ... No, I've always viewed it as very serious.” — briefing Tuesday. Complete article here: AP FACT CHECK: Trump says he always knew virus was pandemic

While I don't blame trump for the high unemployment numbers, I do recall him taking credit for the low unemployment numbers he inherited from Obama.
Soooo, he kind of glued himself to it.
