Is TD Ameritrade customer phone support having problems. 800-669-3900. I've been trying for 2 days to speak with someone. I get the recording saying they are experiencing high volume of calls and get put in music hold. I called the at 8am pacific time. I then called again at 10pm. Still get music hold. Whats up. Anyone else have tis happen lately? I don't want to drive 15mi across town to the westside office or the downtown office. Traffic is terrible.

They have been overwhelmed due to the stock market and all the losses.
Give them a break. if it's life threatening, then get in the car. Otherwise, be happy you don't have their jobs.

My FA used to work for TD. His client load was 6K people. Needless to say, he has moved on and is delighted with his situation now (so am I).

7 Sept. 2020 I've had some communication problems with TDAmeritrade in the past. Long story. Will not detail anything here. I still have an account with them. And I'm hoping to do some modifications to it. Few weeks ago, I had someone drive to their office. Closed because of the virus. He didn't see anyone to talk to.!!!!!

Don't forget that Schwab is now the owner of TD (more or less). My brokerage accounts are held by TD and my FA has told me he's going to transfer those accts. soon to Schwab as to avoid the rush when the full turnover happens.

I went to my local E-Trade office in July to make my Roth contribution. They were also closed due to COVID; don't know if they still are.

Some more history of mine with TDAmeritrade.: Many years ago, I had an acc't with them... but a friend and I discovered Scottrade, a wonderful graphic, etc. brokerage acc't I cancelled my acc't. with TDA., and traded a long time with Scottrade. Then TDA bought out Scottrade, and I was with them again. I was not pleased. Have had that acc't with them a long time. Then a few months ago, I read that someone had read a NYTimes article that Chas. Schwab was buying out TDA...….. I've been patiently waiting for that final trade to happen. The list of successful trading events ( for me ) has been greatly affected by their account. I even sent a letter to them several months ago; never got an answer. Since the letter now is totally out of date.... IT'S INVALID. I'm sure I'll get some correspondence, etc. from Chas. Schwaub one of these days..
