A number of years ago I was visiting my parents' home in western Massachusetts. The folks had two Siamese cats. I was looking out the picture window into the backyard. At the end of their property line was a wooded dingle. I saw one of the Siamese cats slowly stalking something. So I figured out his projected path and saw what the cat planned on pouncing on: an adult porcupine. I quietly went out the back yard door and slowly walked up to the cat and scooped him up. The cat would not have been a happy camper with all those quills he would have ended up in him.

Otters are my favorites. I watched them for over an hour once at the zoo.

As far as I am concerned, all these stories and videos are winners.

Otters are my favorites. I watched them for over an hour once at the zoo. We had otters in the lake behind the house in FL. I loved watching them play! One time a group of about 6 was on our bank and some of them were batting around blossoms dangling down from our bottlebrush tree. One of the more interesting things about them is that when they dragged a fish out to eat, they ate the insides and left the rest of the fish to rot.
