Let it be known far and wide. I agree with Old Coyote on a political statement! Obama got burned badly in 2016 He went with Hillary and told Joe to stay home. He does not want to be known as a two time loser, so he will wait this time, and will still back a loser, only not from day one of the democratic primaries. I don't believe that he did that.
Joe was suffering from a familiar loss. he made his own decision, ttbomk.
do you have any backup for that?

..; He does not want to be known as a two time loser, ... I think he will be known as a two time winner of the Presidency and who he may have endorsed in other elections won't mean much. I see it as he is losing his "legacy position in American politics". He was a great two term President in his eight years as far as much of America believed. I give him kudoes for that. His legacy based on the current democratic nomination process has been damaged as most of the people running are about 300 lengths past him in their political leanings, and that has to hurt him. Other than Biden no one is saying much about Obama and his stances as they are way too "old school" right now. It is like Reagan Republicans and the current atmosphere, making him a dinosaur in the eyes of Trump backers. Obama backed Hillary in the 2016nomination race and told Joe it was not his time. I think he does not want to publicly back a person before the convention because he does not want to lose that battle again. As far as backing the eventual nominee and then losing against Trump, that is a different issue emotionally for him as he did not pick the candidate this time.

How man candidates did trump endorse in the 2018 elections and special elections in 2019 who didn't win? At least 33 candidates lost who were endorsed by trump. So trump is a multi-time loser. Trump cannot have a legacy until after out of office. Backing Congressional candidates and backing Presidential losers is a horse of two different colors. How many Congressional seats did Obama lose in 2010 that he backed? Or did he just do nothing and let them all lose? Trump's legacy will be HUUUGE!

I agree with your last statement. this is probably a generational change.
if he loses, it will have a deep impact on the GOP. if he wins, it will have a deep impact on the entire country.

BUT OBAMA!!!!The discussion is about trump and Obama. trump backed a slew of losers in 2018 and 2019. Own it.

As far as backing the eventual nominee and then losing against Trump, that is a different issue emotionally for him as he did not pick the candidate this time.I believe his, Obama, legacy is well secured...especially after the past three years which , except for the base and most GOP , majority of Americans are mostly favored toward the former President, his wife, his kids...and his class... As the Donald continued to blame him for sins from the beginning of time, the man was a class act...staying quiet..not even mentioning the Donalds name even when any remarks he might make were aimed at the present President..the Donald was not named. While some might like the gutter and school yard talk..feeling it shows toughness..I feel the majority of Americans are ready for some quiet diplomacy...and realize some political correctness isn't all bad... Hell it got us to the top of the heap of great successful nations...and the other seems to just get those who go against PC on top of the ash hill of history...Dictators who for the most part are only remembered by those historians who study such types or known by the rest of us as great failures... I believe there is a good chance the Donald and his mouth will be known as such...

trump's legacy will always start as the third U.S. president to be impeached.

trump's legacy will always start as the third U.S. president to be impeached. Probably, but it is still an open ended game. He could have an even worse entre before the above. Like, BENGHAZI 2.0 !!! Or, the ONLY president to be impeached twice!

Or, the ONLY president to be impeached twice! and this time dismissed from office or resigns like Nixon when his party honchos tell him it's time to leave...Remember it was during Nixons second term after winning in a land side victory....then came Watergate and the tapes and his breakdown and his smiling face on the chopper with the raised v toward the crowd.....and then he was gone and the world moved on with no clash of doom...just business as normal. Then after a while we got the TRUMP....

Honestly, I don’t know why Obama would want to back someone who might not even get the nomination. It makes all the sense in the world for him to wait and then back whoever gets nominated.
