I was told "we have government". Yeah, we do, just not the kind I ever expected. Another of Bevin's pardons was of Patrick Brian Baker, who was convicted in 2017 of murdering Donald Mills and tampering with physical evidence, among other charges.
As the Courier-Journal also reports, Baker's family "raised $21,500 at a political fundraiser last year to retire debt from Bevin's 2015 gubernatorial campaign." Baker's brother and sister-in-law also donated $4,000 to Bevin campaign, according to a state election finance database, the paper reports. www.npr.org/2019/12/13/787811560/on-his-way-out-kentucky-gov-matt-bevin-pardons-murderers-rapists-hundreds-more

I think it's his way of "giving the finger" to his community for his loss. Turning loose a bunch of seriously scary people. What could possibly go wrong?

From the link: The Council on American-Islamic Relations had asked Trenga to order specific, sweeping changes ...
Instead, Trenga simply told the government to craft its own remedies to bring the list into compliance and to submit those proposals to him for review. The Federal judge could have ordered the government to do away with the list. He could have accepted as written the changes proposed by the CAIR. He, a governmental employee, could have written new regulations. Or, as he did, order other government employees to revise the rules and then review what they have done. If you don't like what he did, what do you propose be done?
