Bloomberg campaign manager on 2020: Trump is winning"Right now, Donald Trump is winning. He is winning that election," Sheekey continued. "It’s very tough for people who don’t live in New York or California to understand that, but that is what’s happening ... Mike was doing everything he could from the sidelines and he finally decided it wasn’t enough to sit on the sidelines and he needed to do what he could to alter that dynamic." This guy saying that is news? It would be news if he said, "Any of the current Democratic candidate is beating Trump. My guy is just jumping into the race to stroke his own ego."

This guy saying that is news? It would be news if he said, "Any of the current Democratic candidate is beating Trump. My guy is just jumping into the race to stroke his own ego." There was a small group the other day, four people, on CNN...can't remember which segment...possible the Fareed Zakaria show, not sure. He , Fareed, was there, and the four were discussing Bloomberg entering the race. All these four had very good credentials...well spoken and one said matter of factly...with Bloomberg in the race , as far as we four, a no brainer, the man gets our vote. No one disagree... They then went on to explain why they felt that way...from his success in business...his policies he has espoused over the years, verbally and on the tube and naturally his term as Mayor and his success in that job...enough to get special compensation for another term after his limits in the office had expired yadda, yadda, yadda. Naturally all that IMHO , means little as once u get into the hinterlands of the country...I am thinking …hinterland folks thoughts.. "A too rich New York yid...what does he know about my troubles...yadda, yadda.." Naturally he could easily self support a ad campaign...fly around the country...and man knows the Donald and his faults, personally... Yet with all that...when u think about it...intriguing...... Actually almost caught a whole ad of his today...on CNN...seemed to look good...mind was somewhere else so didn't catch whole ad,,,I am sure I will see more of them.

Today they were saying Bloomberg knows he will have trouble mounting a campaign that propels him to the nomination and is in the race to stop Warren. Myself, I think that leaves an open field for Bernie...... Some say it is to clear a path for Biden which I think is unlkely. Some say it is to clear the field for Mayor Pete or Amy Klobachar, also unlikely. All agreed he is in to stop Trump.

I don't know what he is in for, but it is not to win. He has been spending millions of dollars putting an anti gun machine together in many states. He was instrumental in the recent Virginia election outcome. I imagine his stance on guns will be the backbone behind the scenes so to speak for him in the race. Saw his campaign ad tonight on television. Slick, to the point and good. Much better than any I have seen so far from any democrat.

Can Money buy a Presidency? He isn't trying hard enough. I would like to see him spending billions instead of just millions. I won't even consider voting for him until he pays premium price for full page ads in our local weekly newspaper. Unfortunately our local radio station is community radio and doesn't do political ads but there must be a way he could pour a couple million into them as well. I may be a slut, but not a cheap one.

Can Money buy a Presidency? this is well studied.
a candidate needs enough funding to compete, but really rich candidates have no advantage over good fundraisers.

How many of those were conglomerates or big farm corps & not the little guys? So how many voted do they actually control? Oh, and were they even US citizens with the opportunity to vote? A lot of that money went to foreign farm owners or conglomerates...just not sure from which area of the US.

Plenty of crickets from the Repo-Cons on this. They howled like banshees over Obama saving the auto industry and all of those living wage jobs(after the BushCo. Crash) They complained that only a majority of the bailout funds were recouped. Where are all the hypocrites now that agribusiness has scored large?

Supposedly putting $100 million into advertising in AZ alone!

Better to not start a trade war with every country under the sun, in the first place. Nobody wins.

Please point out anyone, let alone a “consensus” that said that. TYIA In the meantime you are Mr. shovelreadyjobsnarker and I see no support from you for small farm support where they are killing themselves at record levels.

Don, you and I both know that most business fail within five years, many in less time than that! Failure to observe the conditions that effect your industry can not be construed as a failure caused outside influences.
I my self is in a failing industry, I profit by salvaging the bones that are left from the dead carcass. Think of me being an lawyer who's office is next door to the emergency room, when a victim comes in sign them up before they even see a DR... Those that are unconscience, use a bloody finger print as proof of signing the contract.

So are you pissed Canadian lobster industry is making a fortune selling to China to fill the gap from the states? Incidently lobster prices are not low here in the states, and with the supply available it should be.

I doubt the family farmers killing themselves have only been in business 5 years or less. Trump’s tariffs are ruining them and you post like they deserve it because they aren’t observant of industry conditions. Apparently the ‘compassionate conservative’ movement is also a dead carcass now.

Where did I say I was pissed? My POINT, which flew right over your head, was that Trump's tariffs and trade wars are hurting Americans. You have nothing to say about that?
