there are negative repercussions...as this very long time factory based business is finding out...Many of u may have some of their products in your home..I have including some that I inherited from my Dad and some I have already passed on to my son...a few to my daughter too..hopefully they will be in business and still be using American workers...products labeled "made in America"...these are well paid blue collar workers...skilled.. Just as a aside...the company is 175 years young...It's been reformed, added to and purchased over the years , but still originated, regarding tool manufacturing 175 years ago in Connecticut. =============================== "Tariffs levied by the U.S. have led to an escalating trade war between President Donald Trump and China, which has retaliated against American products. In August, business leaders warned that the trade war was a threat to the U.S. economy. A year ago, Allan warned that tariffs imposed on China by President Donald Trump on steel, aluminum and finished goods and retaliatory tariffs by China were having a significant impact on Stanley Black & Decker." ================================ www.courant.com/business/hc-biz-stanley-3rd-quarter-20191024-cgro3twryvbqhgp447t42g7obm-story.html

I won't get a bonus this year. About 40-50% of the problem is tariffs.

tariffs are a useful political tool, and that is it. they are indeed TERRIBLE economics. unless you want to turn your country into Shogun Japan.

I won't get a bonus this year. About 40-50% of the problem is tariffs. tariffs are great for me, but I am a domestic producer in a niche market. me, and something around 10% of US businesses are in this category. which means that 90% of US businesses are going to be hurt by them. and that means that something around 90% of US workers are going to be hurt by them. and it is probably far closer to 100% of consumers will be hurt by them.

Yet with all the evidence pointing to the fact this war with China is hurting both countries and all respected economist and most business folks , food producers as well as the independent farm folks are hurting...the Donald who will never admit to any mistakes , will stick to his guns here..like the captain of the Titanic, go down with the ship and his loyal base will gladly go down with him because their Donald, in their eyes is their almighty and one does not desert ones almighty.. {sheesh... ..think I am going to be sick..please excuse...gag,gag}
