I'd been avoiding my 401k, but my company just flipped our pension to Fidelity from John Hancock so I was curious to see Fidelity's info and projections bc Hancock was always lacking in the pension aspect of that.
Bad news that I'd been avoiding - 401k down almost 100k (20% YTD) including the 30k my company and I have invested this year. Barf.
Good news my current pension balance is almost 100k with projected lump sum payout of $375k at age 60 in 17 yrs.

Right now, I pretty much only log in to do my quarterly net worth update. My house has continued to appreciate. I'd say my house shouldn't be a million dollar house, but our tax assessment in June says it is. And sadly, the thought is that tech salaries are still going up in our area, so the housing market isn't likely to cool down much (though it is now growing at a slower rate). I am down from April, but not much (thanks to the house and continued investment). However, if we don't count physical assets (mostly the house), I'm down about $70k from January, $51k from April.
Age: Shanendoah- 46; C-48 Income: ~$135k/yr
Mortgage: $499,558 Car Note: $26,150 HELOC: $6,024 CC (0%): $375 Debts Total: $532,106
Savings: $12,503 S Retirement Accounts: $256,144 (down ~$40k from Apr) C Retirement Accounts: $47,995 (down ~$7k from Apr) House: $1,098,898 (up ~$40k from Apr) Timeshare: $1,500 Car: $25,000 Assets Total: $1,434,067
Net Worth: $901,961 / $305,670 Previous : $905,787 / $359,830 Change: $(105,224) / $(17,935)
I apparently didn't do a July update last year - or at least didn't save it on my spreadsheet, so I've just updated from last April for my year over year. April 2021 Net Worth: $587,816 Difference: $314,145 Growth: 153.44%

We were on vacation at the end of last month, so finally getting around to posting this.
Here is my July 2022 update:
ASSETS: Checking/Savings: $228,207 House: $512,700 Retirement: $1,670,644 Brokerage: $15,642 529s: $78,327
DEBTS: $0
Total NW: $2,505,520
As usual, the list above excludes our cars, which are worth around $30k combined, but I leave them out because we're unlikely to sell, and need them to get to/from work, kids schools, etc. in the land of suburbia.
We're up about 6% from last month, so yay! Finally moving in a positive direction!

Bought a little more tesla today....I had a goal of a specific number of shares I wanted, and then with the split coming up, it would not be the same, lol. So I bought up to my goal of tesla stock. I had been trying to piece it together slowly over time with my RI income, but that is few and far between and each pay didn't buy too many of them!
Now I am bought up, feeling a little bit too many eggs in one basket, but now I am free to forget about acquiring any more and invest my extra RI money into other things. Likely, treasuries.
So for those keep tabs! This is my house fix up money I spent, just like half of it, so I guess one thing I can do is use the other money for house rather than treasuires/invest to pay back the house fund.
Yeah - I'm out there. I know. you know. I know you know. you know I know.
Can't help it....

I got spanked for buying more tesla, lol! Hope it does pay off long term. Everything is down similarly, but that money was in cash, so ouch! Not sure about accounting on my EF, I think that is off. I've been subtracting what I owe to house fund as had borrowed some here and there, which I did same math this time, but I am actually starting to spend that money towards the project, so that shouldn't be substracted as if I owe to pay back, so EF should be higher but I'll figure that out for next time. At least tomorrow is payday, and more money going into the market for 401k

I clearly can't get my act together to post earlier in the month, though I did update my spreadsheet on my normal timeline. Oh well.
Here is my August 2022 update:
ASSETS: Checking/Savings: $228,113 House: $512,700 Retirement: $1,627,148 Brokerage: $17,890 529s: $74,704
DEBTS: $0
Total NW: $2,460,556
As usual, the list above excludes our cars, which are worth around $30k combined, but I leave them out because we're unlikely to sell, and need them to get to/from work, kids schools, etc. in the land of suburbia. In weirdness, though, I did update the value (I track it on our spreadsheet) last month for the first time in over a year, and somehow our 2018 CRV went up in value. Crazy used car market.
And after one month of positive gains, we're negative again - it was down a little over 1.6%.

I have only missed one month of updating since May of 2012. My OCD won't let me quit. I might quit sharing it though! I think I may have dropped down to only one comma again. Might have to up my house value to what Zillow says!

Doing some tax loss harvesting. Keeping 85% SCHB, 1% individual stocks, currently 14% CDs/cash looking for a place to put it I don't include emergency fund (only 20k @ USAA) or home equity bc (1) no mortgage (2) no intent to move. 4 bd / 3 bath / 1/3 acre / SF Bay. But it's tempting bc I'm really down

I did mine, and similar to MPL, I'm going to check monthly regardless, so I may as well post.
Here is my September 2022 update:
ASSETS: Checking/Savings: $230,924 House: $512,700 Retirement: $1,466,875 Brokerage: $20,916 529s: $66,985
DEBTS: $0
Total NW: $2,298,400
As usual, the list above excludes our cars, which are worth around $30k combined, but I leave them out because we're unlikely to sell, and need them to get to/from work, kids schools, etc. in the land of suburbia.
All I can say is yuck - down over 6.5%, and looking at what the 401k website says for both DH and I, performance of both accounts YTD is around -30%.
In positive news, I realized I hit my 401k max contributions for the year, so going to chase the $10k (max my company plan allows) I can contribute in after-tax bucket. And probably need to look at DH's - I think he's going to max soon, so make sure I switch his over to put in the after-tax bucket as well once he does. I also threw some money from our too-bloated e-fund into the stock market earlier this month and set some more up to transfer on Monday, so trying to remind myself we're buying on sale.
