I had a home visit of a medical individual today and as we gossiped during the visit the gossip turned to politics...
Ray , my visitor, lives in the Palm Beach area of Florida and he told me when the Donald or family visit his resort...traffic patterns change completely...
Main roads citizens can not drive down..to move around the area becomes a time consuming mess and it is not just occasional visits...family also visit a lot separately, same precautions.....plus the cost of extra security..over time and such it is a big strain on city budget...Granted it is a wealthy community..Palm Beach...but is there any American City, Town, Hamlet that does not have financial problems
Doesn't seem that federal government reimburses city for these security costs
The man is big on fulfilling campaign promises..
[something I never really expect once a persom gets in that office and is faced in real time with the problems faced by our nation]
and I believe he was/is a big time complainer of the previouse POTUS playing to much Golf..taking to many days off for vacation..[Obama played at many military posts golf courses..most bases do have golf courses open to officers and enlisted alike] or prestigious private courses where he had a invite and privileges..

It’s that way with all presidents. I missed a flight connection because of obama and air space issues.

DT has a golf course near my house; we sometimes know he is showing up, but sometimes we don't. We just know to avoid areas he may be around when he's in town, And we avoid Palm Beach at all costs when he's expected. Between the protesters and the road closures, there's nothing on the island (or on the roads to and from) that's worth the effort.

I remember reading a book on political campaigns and voting behavior as a Poli Sci major many years ago. In the book the two authors were discussing the value, or lack thereof, of personal appearances. They cited traffic disruption as one of the negative impacts that could lead to someone not voting for the candidate. What was fun was that in the Preface, they indicated that they were supporters of the idea that voters made rational decisions in regards to whom to vote for. Pointing that out in class lead to a great discussion.

He is due in Pittsburgh Wednesday. Since he will arrive around 2:30, schools are closing cause those streets will be shut down for him. Dumb!

I was late for my tee time at Disney once because of GWB.
