According to Websters:
•a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he or she does not hold in order to conceal his or her real feelings or motives
I know this language is really tough for you...but please explain the hypocrite statement
Anyone who can read, can see all my posts...have i EVER been anything other than pro business? I know you dont have to understand my point of view...or agree with any of it...you have that right to express differing opinions
But lay off with the insults...and the use of $ 25 dollar words that are WAY beyond your level of intelligence

another nonsensical post....
you really must brush up on your language skills
you post so many items that make little or no sense at all
especially with your dogmatic views....
dogmatic: characterized by an authoritative, arrogant assertion of unproved or unprovable principles.

Oh you of the lost, continue as you like. Your words are ringing home to those that know better than to believe in a pack of vipers located at one place. Why your words are off topic as they are filled with no more than lies.

Gdgya - As Clemens (aka Twain) is given credit for saying:
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you to his level and beat you with experience.
That said, I do still enjoy watching you and Q hand out the occasional beat down to Decoy the Deceiver or Mid-ol.

Because it is still a country of laws....and if you break the law, you SHOULD have to pay for it But being legal...and being moral are two completely different things...corporate leaders follow the letter of the law to increase their market share and profits...and those that dont are out on their ass in a heartbeat...if you want changes....get the laws changed which is what i have been saying all along.... In your utopian society greed wouldnt exist...and the world is one happy picnic Hate to say it but Gecko was right in a lot of ways. Greed is good. It seperates the wheat from the chaff.... What is your definition of "tough"? How do you deal with a competitor who just opened up a business down the street...and is now cutting your sales and profits by 60% You thinks he wants to "play" nice? Business is cut throat...always has been...always will be. The saying that only the strong survive is very accurate. I know...it is not the "nice" thing to do.....i am a really nice guy....until i am NOT....at that point all bets are off...and i am out to rip out someones heart....that is a current day business leader....and most if honest...would say the same thing and btw...honesty and integrity are two of my best traits....but benevolence and compassion i cannot afford I never said I expected a "Utopian Society" nor did I ever say I expected the world to be "one happy picnic". The word "society" itself has connotations of an expected level of behavior/interaction with your fellow man. A certain standard of decency towards fellow human beings *has* to be in place for a "society" to exist. If you approach life as though it were a game of chess ( a board game, bye the way, that I adore) you cannot expect the pawns to not suddenly decide to look out for their own best interests, the heck with the King, Queen and all of their Court. I'm far from being either a "liberal" or a "conservative". Labeling people is a quick and easy attempt to polarize the pawns against each other. Most people are far to complex to be easily categorized. Most just want a decent life, a family, friends, enough to eat, freedom of expression, to follow their spiritual beliefs ( or to not). Most people are having a *very* difficult time understanding why a country of "laws" seems to only enforce them for those falling under a certain income level. Watching those that gutted our financial system float away with golden parachutes while so many actual working pawns have lost their jobs, medical insurance, homes, etc... My definintion of "tough" is doing what you have to do, legally, ethically, to succeed, even if it "hurts". I've never had an easy life. No one ever claimed it would be. It has made me stronger. I do have a serious problem with those that break the law, behave unethically, toxic waste into the air, water and soil, "cook the books", etc. I do have a problem with those that feel it is ok to throw away the elderly, children, mentally ill and physically handicapped. That isn't a country of "laws", that's the "law of the jungle". I'm in my 5th decade of life. I've watched social mores, decorum, ethics, personal responsibility take a serious slide down through the years. What passes for being a "tough business" person today would have been enough to get them tarred/feathered and run out of town a few decades ago. And rightfully so.

Kate
Business leaders have been ruthless for eons....that is how they got to the pinnacle...google industrial giants of the 19th and 20th centuries....see who pops up...and read all about how nice they were.....Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie and the list goes on....wonderful men who gave endlessly at the end....and ruthless as hell making it in the beginning
You are NOT a business owner...or a manager that has to make the TOUGH decisions....you dont know what you would actually do until put into a particular situation...no one does....MOST owners and managers work their ass off for themselves and their employees....and the tough decisions are a daily occurence for them
It is easy to think what you would do....how you would react....it is a LOT harder in real life...executives and or corporations that try to run their business concerned with how their actions affect everyone would soon be OUT of business
Money begets privelege...and those with money always seem to escape the laws of the land...and wanting that to be different is like wishing on a star...i would love to see the people that caused this mess thrown in jail, and their assets seized.....i just dont think we will get that wish
Society is changing....there is more apathy and less compassion....more greed and less benevolence.....most will adapt to the changes and will adjust their behavior accordingly
We are a LONG way from the society where it is about what is best for all...not best for one

Can anyone tell me why Obama chose Jeffrey Immelt? GE paid $0 taxes in 2010: money.cnn.com/2010/04/16/news/companies/ge_7000_tax_returns/www.ourfuture.org/blog-entry/2011010321/who-should-be-leading-our-job-creation-strategy"There is no swifter way to alienate working class voters than to name an outsourcing CEO to lead your jobs strategy. Yet that’s exactly what President Obama is doing. General Electric CEO Jeffery Immelt has fooled the media and the White House into believing that he cares about American manufacturing jobs. I have a hard time imagining a worse pick, unless Obama would have tapped Immelt’s predecessor Jack Welch, who seemed fine with the idea of putting factories on barges in search of the lowest wages in the world."

None of our muti-nationals is a citizen of any country, If management thought that it was a better deal they would incorporate in Bermuda or wherever. Companies have no national loyalty.
So why do they have the same "rights" as US citizens?
