A couple months ago, I looked at my total steps on my phone. For the month of June so far, I had 11,521 steps on average per day. I went back and looked at my steps from the prior year and it was 11,521.
Earlier this month, I looked at my steps again and was averaging 10,800 for the year. I looked back at the time period for the prior year, and it's exactly the same. Of course, this was just a random point in time and a coincidence, but still. I started thinking about my routine and how I basically do the same thing every single day without even realizing how regimented I am. My wife said I should be proud that I'm so consistent, but I all the sudden started feeling really old. ha
Do you guys more or less follow the same routine every day?

Pretty much the same. My life feels like the movie Groundhog Day far too often. My work is cyclical, and I’ll look back and I was working on the same project the exact day or week last year. Same house, same job, same coworkers, same shit, different year.
I’m getting burned out and want to shake things up a bit. But I don’t want to go overboard and go scorched earth with a full on midlife crisis. At one point routine and lack of change felt like security, now it just feels a bit smothering.

Yes, and no. I follow the same basic routine every week, with varying activities on certain days, for example, Mon, Wed and Sat are gym days after work. The other days can vary slightly but include some minimal house work when I get home, followed by “resting” time.
In general I lead a relatively boring life but can mix in a little variety when necessary.

Monday thru Friday - yes Weekend......I try for one new experience per month. A massive new experience every 6....apparently, that's not common where I work

I think it's interesting that they were both the same! (steps)

I am definitely a creature of habit. But when I look at my steps, it’s obvious which days I work. Those days have at least 15k steps. My off days don’t have 1/3 of that. Unless I’m exploring a different city, the last thing I want to do is a lot of walking when I’m not working.

I do some stuff almost daily like home care and work. But other then that I try to do different things as I get bored. DD and I don't go as much as we used to though.
Today hubs and I did basically nothing, we said we had work to do and did not. He went to see his mom, came home and has watched telly most of the day. I cooked some, have been reading slept for about 3 hours this afternoon. We both said this was really nice for a change to do basically nothing.
But yes, I'm bored half the time anymore. Our city where I used to go shopping doesn't have much of anything anymore.
