Not a big surprise. He didn't buy the place because he was interested in preserving it. He has no choice, since it is historically landmarked. He has fought the town and county on everything when it comes to the property. So if he cannot alter it the way he sees fit, he might as well make use of it another way.

I suspect that the rest of my life will be filled with stories of discovering proof of how crooked President Trump was.

We really don't want to make it okay to go after your political opponents. How will he get investigated without it being all witch hunty?

Politicians that don't want to be investigated post POTUS should not do anything criminal. Then, they won't find any witches. Like how the GOP had investigation after investigation after investigation trying to criminally link Hillary to Bengazhi! and the only thing they could dig up was some emails sent on a private server (which Princess Ivanka has also done). Letting Trump and his family walk away from this greatly enriched with no consequences for his grift sends the wrong message, IMHO. Trump hasn't been good for much, but at least we can use him as an example of how not to behave when you hold public office. Trump hasn't been worth much, but

People donald trump knows and doesn't know: For example, Prince Andrew, a person trump claims he doesn't know: "I don't know him, no," the president told reporters in London. But in an interview with People from 2000 shows Trump describing Andrew as "a lot of fun to be with." And then there is the deceased Army Spec. Vanessa Guillén whom trump apparently knows well enough to call her “a spectacular person” who was “respected and loved by everybody.” “We didn’t want to have this swept under the rug, which could happen,” Trump told members of Guillén’s family and her attorney during an Oval Office meeting, calling Guillén “a spectacular person” who was “respected and loved by everybody.” Trump pledges case of slain Army soldier Vanessa Guillén won’t be ‘swept under the rug’
If trump knows Army Spec. Vanessa Guillén well enough to call her a spectacular person, where is there a picture of trump and Guillén?

If only we had still fully funded that group that locates these things early and works to make sure the US leadership has full information instead of hoping China tells us everything (hint...they did not).

Trump has now admitted he’s trying to defund the post office to slow down mail delivery.
He’s hoping he will be ahead at the end of Election Day and then can insist any mail in votes not received by Election Day are they not invalid.
I still don’t know why he thinks all the mail in votes will favor dems- old people and the military are two voting blocks who lean republican.
This is clearly tampering with the ballot. Are we going to let this slide like all his other shut?
It’s un-American and treasonous.

Since this is election tampering, yes I think he should be tried for it even if it has to wait until he's out of office. I've even noticed weirdness in the local post office that serves where I work. Unfortunately far to many medical provider's treat the facility's address as if it was the patient's home address. It has been convention to relabel the mail with the patient's or POAs address for a certain amount of time after they leave. A bunch of these are coming back with the post office scanning codes front and back that they didn't have when they first arrived. I think for now, I'm going to go with return to sender labels immediately, as when they get delivered again for round two it isn't as if the patient is there to receive the mail. Should I just start throwing them out?

but I have to agree with you, here. at one point I thought this would give him an advantage, but I am no longer sure.

Trump Claims COVID-19 Is God Testing Him After He Built ‘Greatest Economy In History’ President Donald Trump claimed Monday that the coronavirus pandemic that has killed over 170,000 Americans is God’s way of testing him. While boasting about the “economic miracle” he claims to have achieved before COVID-19 disrupted life across America, the president described having a conversation with God about his track record as president. “We built the greatest economy in the history of the world, and now I have to do it again,” he said, repeating a debunkedclaim about his administration’s economic successes during a campaign stop in Mankato, Minnesota. “You know what that is?” Trump asked. “That’s God testing me. He said, ‘You know, you did it once.’ And I said, ‘Did I do a great job, God? I’m the only one that could do it.’’’ www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/trump-coronavirus-god-testing-him-building-economy_n_5f3af4f3c5b670ab17aec416?ri18n=trueHe's so self-absorbed that the virus which has infected, maimed or killed millions, is all about him.

Sister Simone Campbell, quoted in the article, will soon have a nickname from trump. She's doomed.

Not feeling well with a bad case of pneumonia, Susan B. Anthony asked Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a suffragist and associate of hers for many years to read a brief statement to the press:
"I have been informed President Donald J. Trump has pardoned my conviction for illegally voting in Rochesterr, NY during the 1872 presidential election. I was found guilty and fined. After refusing to pay the fine, the authorities dismissed it.
I believe my voting in the election, among other things, was 'Good Trouble' and I wear the conviction with pride.
I believe the only reason President Trump pardoned me was to attract the female vote in the upcoming November election, a demographic which has turned against him. I take no pleasure in a misogynist such as President Trump using me for political gains. President Trump's opinion of women and ill treatment of them is well known including stating this about women in 1992: "You have to treat 'em like shit."
The United States has honored my work for the advancement of women's rights in many ways including my likeness on American currency, something President Trump will never, ever, be so honored with."
