This time it's the intelligence chief...seems the Donald doesn't want intelligence of what is really happening...he seems to want the intelligence reported to him is in support of what he believes.. ========================================== " Coats proved to be a steady and effective intelligence chief. But despite his popularity with the intelligence oversight committees and the career intelligence workforce, he was much less popular with Trump, who was often irked by intelligence assessments that contradicted his views."
" By nominating a partisan like Ratcliffe to replace Coats, Trump is signaling, again, that he values leaders who protect him over those who defend America.
Story continues"============================ www.yahoo.com/news/dan-coats-resignation-trump-values-173606977.html

This mis-administration seems to be setting a record for losing members. They either quit, get fired, are indicted or go to jail.
Mr “I’m gonna hire the BEST people” hasn’t done so well.

Coats was a dead man walking. He dared to tell Trump that NK was just blowing smoke up his skirt about getting rid of his nukes. Coats was right, Trump was wrong to trust Kim's smarmy overtures, but Trump can't resist anyone who fawns over him. Coats also dared to disagree (in public) with Trump on Iran and Putin. He had to go.
In this administration, you can't disagree with Trump and keep your job very long. Trump only wants to hear flattery from his advisors. Let's not forget he has a staff member whose job is to cut out positive articles about Trump from the paper and assemble them into a manila folder so Trump can sit as his desk and twice a day feed his ego.
What a stark contrast to Abraham Lincoln, who was smart enough to populate his cabinet with some of the best people who also happened to be his biggest enemies. Lincoln wanted to hear all sides of an issue, not just his own opinion parroted back to him, and he knew if he listened to the opposition and allowed their views to help shape the administrations policies, he would build consensus and be a stronger union, which was important at a time when the union was threatening to tear itself apart.
Now we're again at a time where the union looks like it's going to tear apart and we have a POTUS who proudly declares he's the president of only a fraction of our citizens, and who is trying to fill his admin and Congress with his clones, puppets who are willing to turn their backs on the constitution, democracy and freedom in order to advance Trump's white nationalist, millionaire boys club agenda. Our only hope is that Ratcliffe is so poorly prepared for this job - I think his longest employment was as a mayor for town of 7000 people (4 terms). His main qualification appears to be how enthusiastically he cheerleads for Trump. Even the GOP is struggling to swallow this turd. Maybe they'll show some backbone and actually decline to appoint this guy for his lack of credentials. Maybe.
