Parkland survivor did not mention how these attacks occurred, But rumor has it all seven spitwads were just poorly thrown!! Young David need to get together with Jesse Smullett, to be more effective in his story telling! Yes, a noose hanging around Young David's neck at the press conference would have been a nice touch,,,, Now back to Fake News Central.

Maybe he can stand by the fence with AOC, and have someone off camera pointing a nerf gun at his head...

He might be telling the truth. His face is pretty punchable, and I agree with his politics. I can only imagine how someone who feels threatened by him may act.

Those parkland kids have drummed up a lot of support for gun control. He is a smart kid, with family money. He has the time, energy, means and motivation to work towards increased regulations. I can see how people who believe guns should be 100% rule free, and has been told that this kid wants the government to storm everyone's house and take all their guns would be angered by that. That is a perceived threat to many people's way of life. That said, he doesn't want a total removal of guns. Just licensing, mandatory safety training and an update to the technology that is used when running background checks so their won't be so many mistakes when selling guns. That message is lost among alarmists.

You know thyme4change,, Myself,, all of my card carrying friends, I don't know any one who want no gun rules or laws1 I will make this simple, What we want is laws that will work , be effective at actually keeping guns out of the hand of the people that will use them for NO GOOD! Don't make up a bunch of feel good laws that only effect law abiding citizens! As far as The wimping little dude,, I think he is fake as all shit.

Then updating the technology to have background checks be more effective sounds like a great thing. How about licensing and registration- similar to a driving and cars? Those two things would go a long way.

If he didn't have guns,, what would have kept him from driving a truck load of fertilizer and diesel fuel right up to the concert. If some one wants to kill a lot of people there are a lot of ways to do it. you don't need guns.

Why don't they drive truckloads of fertilizer and diesel fuel to concerts in countries with strict gun control?

We aren't going to stop every shooting, however, a good number of less dramatic shootings would be reduced by a few things. I believe the technology upgrade to make the background checks more effective is pretty self explanatory. As far as licensing and safety- some people wouldn't bother. But an emphasis on gun safes would decrease the number of criminals getting guns. A large number of homicides are done with guns that were stolen during burglaries. There are estimates on how many lives would be saved by licensing. A lot of those lives would be suicides, because going through the process is tough during depression. I also read once (but now I am not sure of the source, so will gladly eat my words if I am wrong) that a large number of guns used in crimes are sold by a small number of gun dealers. Maybe we should shut down stores that are supplying criminals.

Shame on the interviewer that didn't ask for more details. There's a hell of a lot of difference between seven assassination attempts and seven death threats (or even seven death threats that are particularly scary). Claims like this deserve more scrutiny.

So, what laws do you think will be effective. Not that my opinion matters that much, but I am always curious to hear ideas. It seems like you only shoot down other people's ideas because they won't stop that one shooting, when in reality the big risk is elsewhere. Guns kill over 10,000 people per year - maybe we can't stop Vegas, but could we work on another scenario?

Thyme4change, good morning, If I had the solution, I would be screaming from the highest hill.
Here is what I do know, banning a weapon because of its looks, (Looks like an assault rifle) banning large clips or magazines,
There millions of them already out there, will not stop some one from shooting people, if they are bound and determined to do it.
like hmmm, I can't get a thirty round mag, but I do have three ten round mag,,, well, hmmmm three ten round mags are not going to hack it,, so no shooting today.

Did I suggest banning a kind of weapon? Because, not re-reading anything, I believe I made several other suggestions that you said were pointless because they would not have stopped one particular shooting.

Why don't they drive truckloads of fertilizer and diesel fuel to concerts in countries with strict gun control? You claim that is what will happen if guns are removed from the equation.

except, of course, the NRA would never have that.
see the problem?

How would the NRA stop any comprehensive study? According to some of the posters here, the NRA is done, finished, almost out of business!!! By the way I just made a sizeable donation, sizeable for me anyway, I do put my money where my mouth is!

What would the study involve? Why some people use guns, knives, baseball bats, cars, trucks, fire, poison, rope, drugs to kill someone? Or is the study going look into why people kill injure others over money, failed relationships, drunken rampages, politics, or just plain hate?? using any one of the above listed items?

The NRA has lobbied for all kinds of stuff. For example, Florida passed a law making it illegal for a doctor to ask about guns present in the home. The courts overturned it.

When oldcoyote is a survivor of a mass shooting like what took place at Stoneman Douglas High School, like what took place in Las Vegas, like what took place at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, or what took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School, etc.. he might have something to offer.
Until then, it just not worth responding to him.

A better question would be Do you have illegal drugs in your house? Alcohol, do you have alcohol in your home? Do your children have access to it?

I will also point out, Since I get criticized over my support of the NRA, and support of the Second Amendment. The amount of howling over the change in Abortion Rights from some of the States, the infringing on women's Rights.. So, what is the difference between my supporting my Rights on the Second Amendment, not wanting to give up any ground, so to speak,, And your support of Roe Vs Wade, some one taking away your Rights? I am betting you wish that you had an organization as strong as the NRA.

I am asked every time when I go to the doctor about drug use, drinking and domestic violence.

by keeping any such idea out of the hands of policymakers, of course. did you think that your question was rhetorical?
