Thanks to CLARK for running the weekly stock pick contest.  Looking at the whole board, this "pick" thread is the only thing keeping the board alive except for an occasional new short-lived thread.  Any ideas how we could "perk things up"?  Or, just leave it as it is? 

By the way, D.I. (our other Mod.) has not posted on Options for a long time.  Still around, D.I.?

The idea of this board or the board as a whole losing posters and actually gaining new posters was a concern discussed by the board when it was first put to gether by Laura at the beginning. The issue is how internet posters will find their way to our board when MSN dropped the entire discussion board system. MSN always had new members joining MSN who would find the board listings etc.
Unfortunately, I imagine many members for various reasons do not want their aquaintences to know they are here. We consider this board our private outlet to vent and discuss issues we cannot always discuss with family or friends without the fallout we see with Facebook friends, etc.
If every member encouraged one new poster to join every month for six months it might be interesting to see how we do with that process.

I have suggested this board to several folks over the years.  The answer I always get is that they already have enough social media in their lives and don't intend to add more.  I've pointed out that this board isn't all about politics, but has some good money advice...they still aren't interested at this point in their lives.

Thank you Mod...for my DH, my son & my first DH who has since passed.....as listed...Army, 3 tours Viet Nam...Navy, retired now but was in the Gulf War....Korean Conflict, National Guard from Ill.
