Why do these people insist on invoking Lincoln? While he was a flawed man himself the current Republican party as it stands isn't fit to lick his boots.

So what’s the plan? They impose martial law and keep having elections until Trump finally wins?
I suspect a lot of good republicans who voted for Trump last time would note for for him again, if he pulled this shit.
Hopefully someone high up in the military will shut down this stupid idea with a firm tweet.

He should only do this if he thinks being dead is a better outcome than going to jail and dragging stuff through the courts. I guess the price of Flynn's pardon was saying that publicly?

I saw this the night it aired on Fallon. I thought it was an exceptional job of editing and crafting of clips.

So legally we have certification b4 the Dec. 15th deadline? December 14.
YES- the election is CERTIFIED before December 14th. the only thing that remains is for the EC to vote.
there are many states that have faithless elector laws. here is a map that illustrates it:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_elector
looking at this analytically, here are the DEMOCRATIC states that DISALLOW faithless EC votes:
AZ, NV, MT, WA, CO, MN, MI, ME, NH
in these states, any Republicans that vote against Biden will be stricken.
here are the DEMOCRATIC states that ALLOW faithless EC votes:
CA, OR, HI, NM, VT, CT, NY, PA, GA, MA, VA
so, yes, it is POSSIBLE that Republican Electors will defect, but the number have defectors has never been beyond the single digits in the last century.
it is safe to assume that the electors will follow the certification.

I think the practice is for electors to be non-partisan. that is probably why they are generally faithful. but truthfully, I don't know much about how electors are appointed.

So legally we have certification b4 the Dec. 15th deadline? Not sure on the December 15th date. The Electoral College votes on the 14th. States are supposed to have their members certified by the 8th but most do it before that day. What has happened is that there are now enough members certified who are pledged to Biden that if all are faithful to that pledge he will have enough votes to win the Electoral College vote. The final step is January 6th when Congress certifies the Electoral College vote. It is likely there will be unsuccessful challenges to the vote that day.

Also admittedly know very little, but I read something earlier this year that electors were chosen FOR being faithful to their respective party to prevent faithless electors. Hillary Clinton is actually an elector for NY.

Each state political party appoints a slate of electors. That slate is actually who is elected in November when voters mark a ballot for the party's nominee. It is generally a reward to individuals who have done good deeds for the party. They are the exact opposite of non-partisan.

So some of the house GOPers are planning to dispute the electoral college vote in the House and want to recruit senate GOPers to do the same.

So some of the house GOPers are planning to dispute the electoral college vote in the House and want to recruit senate GOPers to do the same. Actually need to recruit at least one Senator per the law. The Electoral Count Act provides that when Congress holds its joint session to review duly certified electoral votes Jan. 6, if one member from both the House and the Senate object — in writing — to state electoral counts, it will trigger a stoppage in the count. Then the House and the Senate will separately consider the objection — for up to two hours. (Emphasis added)link EDIT: I predict Tom Cotton from Arkansas will be (at ieast) one to sign on.

Can’t imagine it working now either.

Along with 100% of Democrats, those 25 are more than enough and actually the majority of Democrats in the House with zero Republican support is enough to overcome any challenge.

Come to Georgia, where the GOP are fighting each other like a bag of feral cats, and the GOP voters, refusing to accept the state is turning blue, are convinced the vote had to be crooked - which, after decades of gerrymandering and Jim crow laws trying to suppress the black vote, is richly ironic. Poor snowflakes. Maybe they will move to Mississippi, where white folks are still firmly in charge of everything, women know their own lace and there are no gays. (Just kidding Mississippi!)

that actually concerns me quite a bit. Florida would probably be the best example of a problem. since 47% of Florida voted for Biden, why would 47% of the electors not flip over to him?
