yeah. so, as i said before, i LOVE this company. they make a superior product in this sector. it is far better than Impossible, imo.
so, the question becomes twofold:
will they survive AND will something else come along?
i don't know the answer to either. they are on what i call the "amazon trajectory". the bigger their sales, the higher COGS, the larger the losses. so, this is a really bad trajectory. and it HAS to end, because it is a business destroyer.
will something come along? yes. "GROWN" meat. meat will eventually be grown in labs and then in production. this will be a game changer, and it is already being done. so, that is what is coming.
of course, the uncertainty with that is if people will adapt to grown meat. i have no idea. i find the idea particularly displeasing at a visceral level. but LOGICALLY, i think it is vastly superior to raising animals for slaughter at every level.
so, i have reached the conclusion that i am not prepared to take this ride. i was never ready. never owned this stock. but i have thought about it almost daily for a long time.
