I had no idea until I was researching something else that we GIVE Israel $10.5 million dollars a DAY. They are a rich country with lower unemployment then us and doing well.
Now get this look at their insurance coverage and college. WE are helping pay for all this in billions of dollars annually. They have universal health care and free college. Our tax dollars at work, like wow! Who knew!
Healthcare in Israel is universal and participation in a medical insurance plan is compulsory. All Israeli residents are entitled to basic health care as a fundamental right. ... Israelis can increase their medical coverage and improve their options by purchasing private health insurance.
The Open University of Israel accepts all applicants regardless of their academic history, though it still maintains high academic standards. All of Israel's nine public universities, and some of its colleges, are subsidized by the government, and students pay only a small part of the actual cost of tuition.
Holy crap, we are all sitting here struggling and give them a great life with borrowed money. Man are we suckers, I am still in disbelief. And yes I'm posting this stuff all over when people are complaining about college costs and health care.

Wow! I'm all for helping Israel, especially considering the "neighborhood" they're in. But, I'm thinking of SOME help, not giving away the farm...
But then, our current administration would probably give the money away to the top 1% anyway, instead of doing something logical, like infrastructure, or health care...

There's a ton more if you research does Israel have universal healthcare and free college
Or search any of it and you can come up with this. I just never had, I'm still shocked.

Please be advised that any comments about Israel that are not completely positive are anti-Semitic.

I have always noted the 'anti-Semitic' being throw out for everything even remotely critical of Israel's action in any arena. I'm tired of seeing/hearing it as they definitely have issues and I support a two state solution and a permanent end to terrorism and genocide perpetrated by both involved parties.

it seems to have finally won a certain % of our society over. perhaps even a fairly large one.

Just to give you an idea, in 2007 Bush signed an agreement to give Israel $30 billion over a period of 10 years. It looks like it was a renewal of an older standing agreement. We’ve been pouring money into Israel since 1948 Israel is the recipient of highest amounts when it comes to foreign aid

Here's a fun one for you. Abortion is legal & non controversial in Israel. Go figure! American tax dollars are still funding abortions!
Israel, a nation with a forceful religious lobby and a conservative prime minister, is poised to offer its female citizens some of the most liberal abortion coverage in the world.
The nation’s Health Ministry commission, led by Dr. Yonatan Halevy, last week announced its state-subsidized “health basket,” the package of medications and services that all Israeli citizens are entitled to under the nation’s health care system. It was approved by the cabinet on Sunday. The health basket is analyzed and amended on an annual basis, and among the many additional treatments to be offered to Israelis in 2014 are free-of-charge abortions for women ages 20-33. Clauses 312-321 of the 1977 penal code limit the circumstances when an abortion is legal in Israel. Abortions must be approved by a termination committee. Abortions can only be performed by licensed gynecologists in recognized medical facilities that are specifically and publicly recognized as a provider of abortions.[8] However, the Israeli Cabinet updated the 1977 law in 2014 to allow abortion on demand for nearly every woman in the country seeking an abortion.[3]

Careful with what you say. If we don't hand out assistance to all countries, they'll show low confidence with us. This confidence rating is very important in the big picture of things.

I did a quick search regarding income tax for Israelis....it's about 50% plus I know local city taxes....gas, sales etc are also in play and not low...from experience on two trips to the State in the past.. I grant u IMHO they over do it regarding their treatment of Palestinians in the territories...something that happens when u are in control of another for 50 plus yrs folks charged with such security are going to be brain washed as how bad their charges are...don't expect deep thinking for 18/19 year old conscripts...Their wall however...as ugly as it is has seemed to work well in saving lives of civiliens both Israeli and Israeli Palestinians...a bomb on a bus or market does not discriminate... ----------------------------------------------- tradingeconomics.com/israel/personal-income-tax-rate

The Israelis stole the plans from a French jet fighter in the 80s. That was for the Mirage. Funny that after stealing the plans while in route to be shredded/burned, the Israelis shipped them home and built their prototype before the French.
