Hey, I can go for gun control for the illegal that shot and killed the four people. Those Democrats that voted with Republicans on not allowing illegals to buy guns, are on AOC's/Pelosi's list. Will they be deplorable also ?

If those illegals were voting republican, you would be able to see that wall from the international space station.

Kind of amazing how New Zealand managed to ban military assault style weapons within days of that fatal rampage.
Guess they decided our 'thoughts and prayers' technique hasn't proven to be very effective.
Or maybe we've just gotten used to horrific random massacres.

That's what happens when you treat mass shootings as a national tragedy, instead of just another day.

And other inconclusive premises. In Chicago, just about every gun law possible, is in effect. Things are wonderful.

From the article: "Federal officials have said Martinez-Guzman is in the U.S. illegally but they don't know how or when he crossed the border."
So we don't even know if a wall would have kept him out.

A police officer was killed in Washington state, by an illegal alien. About 100 miles east of Seattle. Possible road rage incident/erratic driving. The officer was affecting a traffic stop.

We all know that criminals follow the laws and don't aquire guns when they are illegal, in certain cities. What was I thinking !

Would the wall have stopped the guy's entrance into the US, though? Most illegals come in legally and overstay. A wall won't do shit about that. I do agree that illegal immigration needs to be addressed, but buildng a stupid ass wall isn't it. We need better tracking of legal people who are here and become illegal, more drones/motion sensors/heat sensors to patrol the open areas, and to crack down on the employers who give a reason for the illegals to stay here.

Anyone can drive in or out of Chicago with a truckload of guns. Is anyone checking everything that goes in or out of the city, like border guards do at points of entry?

Using that logic, we might as well take down all the speed limit signs. They're not 100% effective. Every one keeps speeding.

You also can't enforce speed limits when there is no sign indicating the speed limit. stupid argument.

I was agreeing with billisonboards suggestion. I already posted on the wall issue. With a speed limit example.

"was you missing? That's another stupid part. I get very upset about the wall because it's an expensive and simplistic stupid soundbite solution for Trump's limited intelligence base who can't seem to think through this problem. Most illegals don't come in through the open border. They come in legally and overstay. Even if there is a wall, they can go over it, through it, take a boat, take a plane, or take one of the many tunnels into the US at the border. Illegals won't come here if there are no jobs. Tyson chicken is a big one for employing illegals. So are construction companies and farms. Fine the crap out of the employers, and close them down if they keep doing it. There is a huge backlog of immigration cases. Get more judges, attorneys, and case workers to process the people quicker. Give them GPS to keep track of them. Make them report monthly/weekly/whatever. Finally, the wall is going to be built on what is private property. How would you feel if you were one of those landowners who had their land taken for this project. Trump is all for small government until he wants something, then it's OK to have the feds run roughshod over private property rights.

We get it, we get it! You're all for illegals sneaking into the country as long as they marry your son and then get their papers. Or they're friends of yours who snuck in and and then became legal after many years. Illegals you know = good. Illegals you don't know = bad. There's some stellar logic, right there.

Gun laws won't work, so lets do nothing about this serious problem. A border wall won't work, but lets spend billions of dollars anyway, because brown people!

We don't need a wall, but,,
I actually have been following this quite closely, and know some people who actually worked with him. They are fairly certain that he had overstayed his visa from a few years before. It hasn't officially came out yet, so I am not 100% certain. This all happened in my backyard, 20 minutes away from all the murders. People were terrified! 4 in a matter of days, and it never made national news. I was shocked that it didn't. We had what we believed was serial killings going on, and barely a peep out of the news. Trump tweeted briefly about it after he was caught and came out as illegal. But, he never said much more.... Was it because he found out it was someone who was just overstaying a visa We thank you for your concern months later.... But is that because it fits a political agenda?
