I am so hungry.
For the last week or so, I start getting insanely hungry a couple hours before a meal. And if I don't eat something, I get a headache and nausea. I didn't change anything about my eating. Two nights ago, I woke up at 3 am and had to eat a snack. Yesterday, i felt so sick i made my husband pull over and i spent $30 at Circle K on random junk food.
Is this an indication of some problem, or maybe a normal thing maybe related to hormones? I haven't been tagged as menopausal yet, but I won't get away with skipping that joy.

Sounds a little like a symptom of the "blood sugar" roller coaster that can be diabetes.
FWIW: I've had weird peri menopausal stuff - basically my PMS systoms on steroids for weeks/months at a time with hot flashes thrown in for fun. And by PMS I mean all the nutsy stuff that would go on for three to 5 days until my period started when it all magically stopped cold. So, I'm not talking about cramps and bloating.

I've never thought of myself at risk for diabetes, even though I drink a lot of water. Maybe I will cut sugar and carbs and see if that helps.

Do you tend to skip meals, or do you eat a normal 3 meals a day? It wouldn't hurt to call your doctor, just to see if he/she would like you to get a check-up.

When I was a kid my family and I were at my grandparents' home for Sunday dinner. I was unusually thirsty that day. My grandfather, a type 1 diabetic, noticed my thirst. He recommended I take a pee test in the bathroom with one of those urine strips. I took it and it showed no problem. But two days later I came down with the German measles.

I just typed "nothing new" but I took Prednisone two weeks ago when I got that bad cold. Could it be delayed?

I have always been a very thirsty person. I recall when I was a kid my mom telling someone that I drink a lot of water. So, my thirst is nothing new. I blame it on living in the arid desert.

I suppose it could. How are your bowels? Loose stools can lead to dehydration, and increased thirst. (I'm also one who is ALWAYS thirsty, for as long as I can remember.)

My guesses in no particular order: diabetes, ulcer, thyroid issues, perimenopause.
Regardless, the answers are all to set up an appointment for fasting blood work with your primary care doc.

It could just be winter. I don’t know where you live, but up here in the great white north, your body tends to require excess nutrition so you can keep your fat reserves up to survive being stuck in a snow bank for an extended period of time. Maybe your body is subconsciously telling you that your too thin and it’s time to bulk up. Enjoy it.

See your doctor! Keep a log of everything you put in your mouth from as far back as you are sure you remember & up to your appointment with the Dr. This will help him/her determine what's going on & don't forget to mention the meds you had and are off now...and when they ended. It could be lots of things....or not much of anything, but it's best to know for sure!
And I've had "dry mouth" since I can remember...always drinking something...and still do. Carry my swt. tea with me every place I go. And DH even brought it to me in the hospital cause that little dab they hand out wasn't enough...and I didn't want the sodas they offered.

I have a business trip this week. We will probably eat on a very regular schedule, but if it is still a problem I will try and get to the doc next week.

Anytime I finish a course of prednisone I starve to death. I have to make sure I think about it or I can eat and eat and gain. So that is a likely culprit.
The other is hypoglycemia, I carry glucose tablets because if I don't eat every few hours I will bottom out. But I get weak, nauseus, and feel kind of like I'm going to faint sometimes. And I feel like I can hardly move my muscles if it goes on to long. I just have to remember to eat often, not a lot.
And You could be getting diabetic, a doc can help you determine that. Might check with your doc

My briefcase is currently stuffed with random food, as if I may get caught somewhere and not have access to food for days. 😀
