In the infamous words of Shrek: You have the right to remain silent. What you lack is the capacity.
If I was Stone's attorney, I would be filing a motion to relieve myself of representation. Obviously he isn't listening to his lawyers.

They were all horrified by Stone's action and said that his written apology was probably at the insistence of his lawyers, that the lawyers would quit if he didn't apologize immediately.

Pissing off a judge prior to trial/sentence is like giving your food server grief before receiving your meal, you just don’t do it. They have so much leeway to screw up your day.

I kind of wonder if Stone is maybe a little unscrewed, mentally. He isn't behaving rationally, for someone who could be facing significant jail time. This is usually when you shut up and let your lawyers speak for you.
Of course I don't know much about him, except that he has a tattoo of Nixon on his back. Maybe this is 'normal' for him.

Watch “Get Me Roger Stone” on Netflix, it explains a lot. I think he knows he is screwed with the evidence and his only chance is tainting the jury pool to get a hung jury or getting a pardon. I think he badly miscalculated with this one though and he may find himself in jail at the end of the week or a hair away from it.

he behaves as if he is above the law.
this is PRECISELY the kind of person that usually ends up with the full force of it on his neck.

Doesn't President Trump and all his men (Cohen, Manafort, etc) behave like that? The law is just for us little people.

Grifters always think they're smarter than the average human. They usually aren't, they're just lucky, and manage to stay under the legal radar, most of the time.
Until one of them gets elected POTUS, and the world's media and legal systems watch him with laser focus, and suddenly, the shit they hoped to keep hidden under the rocks starts to surface.

He sure is a poster child for this. Who did he think he is kidding with this:
"Stone’s lawyers apologized to Jackson for the “improper photograph and comment” in a “notice of apology” filed with the court Monday.
“I had no intention of disrespecting the Court and humbly apologize to the Court for the transgression,” Stone said in that filing. ..."
What a stupid, arrogant little twit.

the Judge ripped Stoney up one side & down the other. Then she extended the gag order. He's not allowed to speak, tweet, instagram, go on tv or radio, no blogs, no letters, about the case. She will not give him another chance if he fucks it up again, she will remand him to custody.
He'll fuck it up within a week and then she can throw his slimy weasly ass in jail.

steff you missed an important part of this ruling IMO "Jackson said Stone could issue no statements on the radio, no press releases, no blogs, no media interviews, no Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat posts and no statements can be made on his behalf by spokespersons, family members or even "many volunteers," Jackson said. "This is not baseball," she added. "There will not be a third chance." " No more hiding "behind the skirts" of others. If statements are made → that is it!

He is still allowed to keep his 'fund raising' website up, and made a statement in court about how he was financially strapped and having trouble paying the rent.
So if anyone feels sorry for this guy - please rush out and donate money to him.
Personally, I think he should sell off all his fancy, high end clothes, raise a little scratch that way. When he goes to jail, he'll get a new set of clothes anyway.

Is Roger stone going for a “I did not do it but I did it but I am really not sure if I did and someone else might have done it” defense? www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/politics/2019/02/22/roger-stone-takes-stand-much-ridiculousness-ensues/He has people that have access to his phone but could not remember the list of people from 4 days ago... He did not post the pic, a volunteer did but then he did when he went back and check? He just randomly selected that picture amid other pictures without paying attention? So is that his defense? Playing stupid? Other people have access to my phone, my emails etc and probably they did it and not me, but maybe I did but cannot remember...

He’s paying for that representation? Maybe the guy was wearing a nice suit with "braces" and Stone felt a real kinship.

Or they pay them enough they'll still do the stupid shit they say even though they've warned them. I fully believe that these idiots tell their lawyers they know better and to do what they say.
