Tractor-Trailer entered the U.S. through a non-walled U.S./Mexico border area by swimming across the Rio Grande carrying fentanyl and meth. Huge load of fentanyl, meth seized at Nogales port of entryCustoms and Border Protection officers seized 254 pounds of fentanyl over the weekend at a Nogales port of entry, the largest single seizure of the potent opioid in CBP history. A 26-year-old Mexican truck driver was caught with more than 650 pounds of meth and fentanyl worth $4.6 million, officials said Thursday during a press conference at the Mariposa Port of Entry. Agents referred the truck, loaded with produce, for secondary inspection. During a scan, agents observed anomalies in the trailers’ floor. A CBP canine team alerted to the odor of the illegal substance, and 400 packages were uncovered. More than 100 packages of fentanyl, worth $3.5 million, were mainly in powder form but there were also pills. The meth seizure was the third largest discovered at Arizona ports of entry and consisted of more than 300 packages weighing 395 pounds worth $1.18 million. How does the title and first paragraph and the rest of the post relate? One is about a semi truck crossing the Rio grande, and the other is a story from Arizona about how the wall is irrelevant to the largest drug bust on the border?

I like a "WALL like that ,,,GREAT WALL OF CHINA, 100 yard No Mans Land, Snipers every 100 yards,,Build housing inside the wall for the guards, Kitchen , mess halls, apartments every mile or less,,
So the Guards are never more than 1/2 mile from food and shelter,, A complete new industry supplying the wall with food and bullets!! annd your arguement about it is too long to build here,,, China's wall is 13,171 miles long!!

Currently, the US does NOT inspect every truck that crosses the US/Mexico border. I've read different articles where the percentage inspected varies, from 1 in 5, to 1 in 10 get inspected. Since apparently we don't have enough people working the border, there is a lot of opportunity for smugglers to sneak anything, from drugs to people across the border. Why build a wall when we could tighten our border just by inspecting every single vehicle that crosses the border? (Of course many tunnels have been found, so vehicle inspections won't stop smuggling, but it would help reduce unwanted cargo from getting into the US.)

One is about a semi truck crossing the Rio grande, and the other is a story from Arizona about how the wall is irrelevant to the largest drug bust on the border? trump and many of his followers keep pushing the falsehood the vast majority of drugs are being smuggled into the U.S. by individuals through parts of our shared border without walls, like swimming across the Rio Grande. In actuality, the vast majority of drugs are being smuggled through our legal ports of entry. So I thought I would create a bit of satire combining the falsehood (drugs crossing though un-walled areas (the Rio Grande being a natural border deterrent during high water times)) with the truth (the vast majority drugs coming through ports of entry often times hidden within tractor-trailer loads of goods).

I do not support a huge expenditure for adding large sections of addition barrier on the border because I don't think it is cost effective. I don't, however, see any reason to spend money to tear down something that President Trump might get built. That would be spending good money after bad to me.

The border is quite a bottleneck, so they don't inspect every car. If they were able to double the agents and double the lanes at the port of entry, they could catch a lot more. Additional money going to border control to spend in a way they think is most effective. If they think a wall will work, build a wall. If they think more agents and 3 more x ray machines per port would be most effective - let's do that.

A lot of illegal drugs come from south east asia. Others come from central South America and come in along the NE coast (like NYC) or in through the western coast of the US (like LA). To believe the Wall would stop all drugs from entering the country is completely false - it might divert some if it around to the other established routes, but most of it would still keep coming through the port of entries, hidden in cars and trucks, like it does now. Unless we do a better job searching incoming trucks and cars, and we can't, if we blow our money on a wall (that can easily be scaled or tunneled under).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_drug_trade
And I don't know that I'd worry about marijuana - since so many states grow their own now, the drug lords have switched to heroin.

I support dedicating large sums of money dealing with the demand side of the drug situation and not being so stressed about the supply side.

OK then,, open the borders,, jail the users, Yea,, I will go for that! You can't jail them forever, and when they get out of jail, they're still an addict. Now what? You're also very naive if you think there aren't drugs in prison.
