Hello everyone.
So much has happened I don't know quite where to begin - but I am back online. I don't know if any of you here remember me, but tomorrow would have been Aeryn's third birthday. I will never forget your kindness to me.
My son and I are now living with my parents. Aeryn Siobhan was finally interred with her brother, Brendan Ferghus, last October. My husband left in December and life improved drastically despite the fact that I can no longer drive. (I told you a lot has happened). Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you and that I still appreciate all the help this long down the road.

The seizures have now been under control for three months. It turns out my thyroid had never stabilized, and it is possible the seizures were a combination of thyroid dysfunction and as my neurologist put it "other stressors."
The thing is, after we moved in with my parents, a lot of the things I took as simply "normal" became obvious that they weren't. So don't be sorry my husband left, it's actually improved my life a lot. Nursing school is still on hold but I'm working part-time teaching music. I actually even went and auditioned for a scholarship the other day, felt terrible but they do still need altos and I can still read music so keep your fingers crossed, maybe I'll be able to finish a two-year nursing degree if I get the scholarship. Not being able to drive in this area is frustrating; right now my brother usually drives me around to doctor's appointments and I carpool with my parents to get to town for work. But, on the other hand, I can take a nap or read or whatever instead of watching for traffic. I'm also back down to a weight I can see my weight on a regular scale and have clothes that fit instead of only being able to wear sweat pants and mu-muus.
The neurologist is changing my medication to an extended release at the end of this month so if that works then I can apply for the drug assistance program when my insurance runs out. As soon as the divorce paperwork finishes processing that's it. So, will have to cross that bridge when I come to it. I've already spoken with my credit union about enrolling in their counseling courses and doing some things to rebuild a credit rating.

newmummy, it's so good to hear from you! You've dealt with a lot. I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay. Getting control of your medical situation, more stability in your personal life (once the divorce is final) and getting control of your weight are good things. Keep posting here! We've missed you. Welcome back.

I'm so glad you made it over here. I've been wondering how you've been doing and have been keeping you in my prayers - I hope you don't mind that.
I'm sorry for your troubles, I think I missed most of them on the old board. But I'm really glad you're in a better place and seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

I loosely followed your story on the old boards and remembered the heartache you felt when you lost Aeryn. I am so glad that you seem to be in a better place now.

Well, there was a lawyer meeting today to settle the divorce, so here's my new starting numbers:
Student loans: $15,659.58 Medical bills: $4,358.44 (but half "might" go to ex) Personal loans (parents): $3662.50
Mortgage: $33,759.38 - but this is supposed to be he either refinances for the debt plus about $3K equity to me or defaults on the loan and the house gets put up for sale. We'll see.
The good news is he's been ordered to take the remaining credit card debt, the loan he took out, and maintain medical/dental/vision insurance for my son. He will have child support drafted from his check, $350 every paycheck.
Current income: $117.38 take-home pay plus $700: $817.38 per month. But, my teaching contract expires in May so then it will only be the child support if I can't find work.
So, back before square one. However, my parents have said we will have food and shelter. I'm trying to find more work but we'll see.
