Wouldn't it be nice if we had a president who understood that the TRUE art of the deal is compromise? (That applies to congress as well) Can you tell me when Chuck and Nancy said they would compromise on the wall funding. i thought Mexico was paying for it. if they ARE, then how about we just wait for that?

Besides didn't the Democrats try to link passing a short term funding in exchange for DACA already? And it wasn't a success? Why repeat failure?

give or take a few weeks...... i suspect that a funding measure could be constructed that would win the favor of 15 Republicans in the Senate and end this discussion entirely. of course, that presumes that there are still 15 that understand that their job is to govern. admittedly speculation on my part.

Trump also said he could declare a national emergency and divert funds from the DOD or other agencies without congressional authority. He thinks he is king. Dangerous person.

That would be the time the Legislative Branch would need to step up (or call the Constitution no longer our governing document and dissolve).

Mitch McConnell, Sec of Defense and Chief of Staff need to tell Trump he can't do that. Of course he often fires people who tell him that. He's envious of Putin's power.

Can you tell me when Chuck and Nancy said they would compromise on the wall funding. i thought Mexico was paying for it. if they ARE, then how about we just wait for that? Spoken as a partisan politician...... Since Mexico refuses to pay for it, we have to go to the obvious second best possibility, or plan B. Telling America we can use drones to prevent entry is ludicrous, unless they are armed and ready to stop people from entering......since once in the country we have to keep them here.......stupid is as stupid does. Congress can always tell Mexico we will with hold 25 billion in future graft (as in annual gifts of monetary donations) given to Mexico to pay for the wall. Probelm solved.

(That applies to congress as well) Can you tell me when Chuck and Nancy said they would compromise on the wall funding. They have said no money for the wall since the election. Where is the compromise? Where was their compromise on DACA last year when Trump wanted to do a deal? It takes both sides to make a deal. They have offered 1.3B...that is more than enough at one time. Personally, I wouldn't give him a dime, but I'm not in Congress.
