Roomba is running. Lucy tried to act as a barrier to keep Roomba in the kitchen so I had to physically move Lucy. DN3 is coming over this afternoon and bringing boxes from the basement to the garage! Now I can start that project.

Today
- pharmacy
- supermarket
- bottle bank (DH)
- DH's accounting
- clean out toiletries kit
- clean out handbag
- wash Eastpak
Finally packing. Since we have to pay for checked baggage, DH and I are sharing one checked bag. I'm not looking forward to that. I was hoping to go just carry on but with toiletries/meds/shoes it's impossible.

ALL the stuff is back at Mom's house. So. many. boxes. HELP!!!! Also, the supposed master list they had of what was in the boxes and what went with what is gone. The employee doing it got fired and took it with her. (If you have forgotten the source of my panic, Mom's house flooded in March and all the stuff in affected rooms was removed to storage until repairs were completed. )

Sending you internet hugs. Thanks! There are boxes on the back porch and boxes in the driveway and boxes piled EVERYWHERE on and around the furniture. The ones sitting outside *should* come first but the ones blocking furniture probably will get done first. Can't put things away when they stuff they go in is covered up!! 600 some odd boxes. I've been there the past 2 weekends trying to help make some space and planned a 4 day weekend for ME this coming weekend. No way I can feel good just sitting at home goofing off when my 72 year old parents are buried in this stuff.

So I'm basically packed, except for a few items that are still drying. I fit all my clothes into my carry-on. DH will put my shoes and toiletries + our meds into his checked bag. I picked DS3 up at the bus stop tonight, and finally donated that bag of clothing. There were two tops I loved but they were way too big, so I let them go.
ETA: I posted (and deleted) about DH laying out the money for our AirBnBs, and my sister and DS1/DDIL owing DH. My sister paid DH back the day after I asked her if she could. DS1 asked for an extension but that's fine.

Light bulb has been changed in the forbidden room in the basement and about a dozen boxes are now in the garage.
There are definitely a few (Christmas stuff) that I can carry up myself.
The basement project and the scanning project now have my priority.
New area rug is also down in living room and old one moved to bedroom.

We did the area rugs and started on the boxes. Great nephew was to meet his parents at 5:30 in town, so that was all they had time for. 10 years ago today, those boxes were taken to the basement. Poor Lucy is confused. She got in the forbidden room, but I caught her and shut her in the laundry room. When they had left and she was free, she was howling at the door in the basement. There is a box still in the living room from the area rug and she has a new toy. She can play with it until Monday. ETA: I'm going to measure the bathroom and have the Errand company give me an estimate for painting it vs the bathroom/living/dining/kitchen/entry this fall.

Counted the boxes DN3 and Great nephew brought up last night. They brought up 10 boxes. The last one had water in it. It's got stuff in it that I would have tossed anyway. Will get that ready to go in Monday's trash.
The other 9 boxes don't appear to be wet. Obviously, what is in them is not important as it's set in the basement untouched for 10 years.
So it's time to go through the 10 boxes and decide to trash/donate/recycle, etc. The stuff in these 10 boxes will now be out of my house.

I didn't feel well when I woke up. Felt like I was catching a cold.
All I have accomplished today (and all I will accomplish today) is taking dad on his errands and getting my groceries.
Decluttering plans are on hold for today. Once I got my groceries put away, I fell asleep and woke up after 3 PM. Yes, I am sick.

Yesterday was the first full day of boxes everywhere at my parents house. They went to Walmart twice and my brother in law's all evening. They picked all their stuff up at his house (they have been back in the house a while, I didn't know there was still stuff over there) so had a car SUV full to try to find a place for. They didn't empty one. single. box. I'll go over mid morning tomorrow because I am NOT getting up early on my day off after giving up 2 weekends in a row.

My goal for August is to clean out my pantry and freezer and spend close to $0 on groceries. So far this week I’ve had a can of soup for dinner and tuna on very stale bread from the freezer. I do have some protein (shrimp, burgers, chicken sausage) but not much so I’ll be doling it out slowly this month. I have made a dent in the gallon sized jar of lemonade mix with 3 gallons mixed up in the past few weeks. After that’s done it’s on to the wine Cleaning tomorrow for an Open House on Saturday and tomorrow I want to work out in the garage for a few hours. I can take a couple boxes out of town Saturday but will probably come back later that day.

I haven't talked about it because I think of this thread as personal decluttering, but have just finished a 5 month purge, paint and remodel of my new office. I can't begin to describe what a hoarding, dusty mess my predecessor left. I had to get it done between getting all my regular tasks so it took a while. But I'm so thrilled with the improvement.

DS1's summer baseball season ended today. I am sad to see it over, but very much welcoming a brief hiatus from games/practices/washing uniforms. He is signed up for fall baseball and soccer but neither starts until the week after Labor Day. This week's goals: Unpack sports equipment from both vehicles (including pop tent, wagon, and chairs) Clean out both vehicles (so much infield in the carpets lol)Wash my SUV Laundry, laundry, and some more laundry Mow and weedeat Dust/vacuum/mop Clean bathrooms Clean kitchenBalance checkbook End of month money check/update WIRR&WIRSPay bills Grocery list/menu for 2 weeksGrocery store Drop off recyling Super super super lofty goals for this week, because right now I am so exhausted from this weekend I can't even imagine accomplishing them: Spray weeds in drivewayTake pile of junk outside to dumpster Organize leftover yard sale stuff and get remaining unlisted items listed on FB Type PTO minutes Set up PTO google drive Apply stripper to deck Remove gazebo frame from deck Haircuts for DS1,DS2, & H Label DS1's school supplies (I print nice labels and attach to all his stuff) Order paint for DS1's room (need small can for touch ups) And most importantly- ENJOY this last full week of summer vacation before I have to start sharing DS1 again next week. Progress is progress!

Emptied the contents of the box that had been wet in to two trash bags. I had put too much stuff in the boxes, which made them very heavy.
Can't toss anything else this week. Have to wait for trash to go on Monday.
I only held back two items to consider keeping.
The box is also in the recycling bin.

I love seeing everyone's progress. I have not done a thing this summer as far as getting rid of stuff. However, I finally have a weekend home and I have a list of things I'm hoping to accomplish: 1. Sort kids clothes and take box to resale shop. 2. Sort my clothes and take box to resale shop. 3. Looking at another company for kitchen cabinets - appointment set for Sat morning. 4. Remove the remainder of the soffit in the kitchen. Figure out plan to move some electrical wires. 5. Laundry - get ALL caught up. 6. Clean the desk area in the kitchen. Need to purge and organize a lot of the drawers and upper cabinets. 7. Going to see Imagine Dragons for Football HOF Sunday night.

Hi Kids! I'm slowly recovering from surgery, still, but I DID drop off a bag of clothing at a local charity. It was sort of hidden off of the main road, so I didn't even know it was there, but everything they sell benefits a local battered women's shelter, so I was happy to donate. You all have done a lot! I need to get better, and catch up.

ALL the stuff is back at Mom's house. So. many. boxes. HELP!!!! Also, the supposed master list they had of what was in the boxes and what went with what is gone. The employee doing it got fired and took it with her. (If you have forgotten the source of my panic, Mom's house flooded in March and all the stuff in affected rooms was removed to storage until repairs were completed. ) How petty is that! Karma will get her!

Managed to get the majority of the items done on my list.
Still to do:
*Finish one craft project from this summer's retreat *Repair earrings *Reschedule handyman -- had conflict this week *Photos for Etsy
Added: *Make three pairs of new earring design *Finish box #2 *File the pile *Add more items to the donation box -- ongoing item.
This morning I got started as earlier start than normal. *Managed to get several plants re-potted into larger containers *watered the outdoor container plants. *started dinner *load of laundry. *Scheduled next month's car payment. Updated the spreadsheet with new numbers on the loan. So far I have managed to cut two months off the loan time. I add a little extra on my monthly payment and on occasion I send in an extra $20-25 in the middle of the month. I hate having any type of loan and really want this one gone. It started in January as a 39 month with payoff by March 2022 now happy to have it at January 2022 and will continue the prepay as much as I can to knock the time off asap.
