This weekend I need to finish out my January deep cleaning list. My adulting has been mediocre this week. Because of that I also have some regular chores to catch up on. I need to get started on prepping our 2018 tax paperwork.

Visiting my aging parents today, not much will get done here. Got to babysit new baby granddaughter last night for a few hours, another great distraction! DH and I had planned to start the painting of our main bathroom by now, but it hasn't happened. We go to Florida in February for a short week, so maybe after that. Still have the donation bags I gathered last week, in my car to drop off.

Grandma was in a lot of pain yesterday and was given morphine. I was in the car this morning on my way to see her when I got the news that she passed during the night.

Peter Walsh’s 31 Days to Get Organized Challenge:
Day 1 -Set up a donation bin. And, everyone in your house finds 5 items to place in the bin.
Day 2 - Shoes. Gather all of your shoes up from your closet. If they have dust on them, don’t fit, etc, put them in your donate bin. Only keep shoes you love, wear, and that fit you well.
Day 3 - Home Safety. Being organized is not just about closets and files, it's also about ensuring the best life for you and your family. The New Year is a great time to check smoke detectors in your home. Make this your 10 minute challenge for the day and make your family a little safer in the process!
Day 4 - This year’s challenge Mantra is “No more later” aka stop procrastinating. Today's challenge is to contact someone, preferably by phone, that you’ve been putting off. It could be a friend, family member, for more coworker, etc, but do it today!
Day 5 - The Junk Drawer.
Day 6 - Holiday Decorations. The holidays are over and it's time for the decorations to come down.
Day 7 - Bathroom cabinets! Pick one bathroom cabinet, and get rid of anything too old, expired or you don’t use, and put everything away in its proper space.
Day 8 - Plastic Food Storage Containers.
Day 9 - Hanging Clothes. In his video, he says that anything that has dust on it needs to go.
Day 10 - the mail. If you have mail pretty much all over your house then today's the day we're going to get that sorted out.
Day 11 - under the sink.
Day 12 - Clear out old magazines, catalogs, flyers, etc.
Day 13 - Gift wrap
Day 14 - space underneath your bed
Day 15 - Getting the fridge & freezer organized.
Day 16 - "The Lower Third Technique"! (For those notmwatchint the videos on Facebook, it’s basically to take a stack or pile of clothing and focus on the bottom 1/3 of the stack, as you’ll likely find you can donate most of that part of the pile).
Day 17 - Bills & Receipts.
Day 18 - back in the kitchen dealing with the cupboard that holds your cups and mugs.
Day 19 - Today I challenge you to tackle just one small area of your garage... it's all about just getting started!
Day 20 - has us back in the kitchen with a challenge about keeping flat surfaces clear.
Day 21 - Books (Don't start screaming yet)! This is always an emotional topic! I love books too but if your books are never going to be read and are covered in dust, perhaps today's the day to deal with them.
Day 22 - Linen Cupboard. Towels, sheets, blankets and more!
Day 23 - all about your "unmentionables"... and your socks too! Let's go where no other organizer will go... ten minutes and you'll be amazed at the result!
Day 24 - cleaning products.
Day 25 - that drawer (or container) in your kitchen where you keep your kitchen utensils.
Day 26 of #31Days2GetOrganized is all about cookbooks and recipes and cooking magazines. If those are more common than even some spices in your kitchen, then definitely check out today's challenge. We're in the kitchen and we're cooking up something great! #Cookbooks #KitchenClutter #ItsAllTooMuch #LetItGo

Today was a LONG day. I finished my marking, had a 5H rehearsal (which didn't go great) and a dinner at our friends' house. So I'm planning to do NOTHING tomorrow but work on lines. Maybe a load of laundry and a walk with DH if the weather is good.

Ordered hearing aid batteries from Amazon for dad. $15 versus $60 at the doctor's office. No way am I letting him get to where it's an emergency and he can't wait for the batteries to arrive.
I realized I haven't transferred birthdays and anniversaries to my calendar, so I need to do that.
I made an appointment for Lucy's annual checkup and one vaccine.

One more thing off the list. But the time consumers are there for tomorrow.
- get a bunch of AP done for work
- get my report done for a volunteer gig I do
- get a second report done for another volunteer gig
- vacuum and mop the floors
- do my laundry
- get my nails done
- grocery shop

startsmart -- Sorry to read about your grandmother. Hope all of you are doing well. Things are really picking up (pun intended) around here with all of the progress all of you have made. Thanks tcu2003 for posting the list. It did prompt me to get a few items done. Several of the days' lists were things that I had already done. A few are ongoing ones and there were a few that I needed to do. My weeks are getting busier now that the volunteer teaching and class taking have resumed. I also signed up for a program at church. I did not realize at the time that it was a weekly commitment for the next several months. I am ok with it but it would have been better to have known. I am making progress on the started craft and beading projects. I usually have at least three items that I am working on at any given time. Currently I am waiting to finish the laundry. I am on the third and last load which is in the dryer so laundry is at the ending stages. Today was the day I changed the sheets so bed has been remade and room is in good order. Goals for upcoming weeks: Expenses*Renew gym membership *Flood Insurance renewal *Book plane for summer retreat *Supplemental Insurance Renewal Commitments:*Class -- Wednesday *Class and Teach -- Thursday *Meeting -- Thursday *Hair Appointment -- Thursday House:
*Maintain Progress *Start new donation box *Keep up with laundry, dishes, routine chores *Make veggie soup *Organize at least three areas *Grocery for perishables if needed *Get to the gym to walk, class. Just get there! Crafts:
*Finish current necklace *Crochet a few rows daily on afghan (usually while watching tv) *Figure out a design for a friend (this has been a challenge -- made at least three attempts and ripped them all out so far.) *Bead at least one item for upcoming show I know that there is more but I can't remember them all at the moment. Will pop in when I can. Have a great week!
