U.S. has officially reached Oil Independence

We are now exporting refined oil to parts of the world and we have erased 75 years of oil dependence from foreign sources.

I never thought this would happen. Even when I was in highschool in the 1960's officials were claiming we would be out of oil reserves by now.

This is an important economic development. I do not really care for exportation of this commodity, but it does help close our monetary drain of imports versus exports.
We no longer are dependent of boycotts by foreign countries of an important commodity that runs our economy.

All we need now is more infrastructure to get the products to parts of the Country where we need them the most.

I think we need to make sure we don't tap into our reserves too greedily.  I have always thought it was to our advantage to leave our supply in the ground and use up what others are willing to put on the market now.  That way, when it becomes truly more scarce, we have more control.  Being independent with only a bit to export seems perfect.

The world's oil supply is not infinite. Neither is our country's supply.
