My monitor "died" on me Sunday. Bought a new one at Sam's Club this morning and almost collaped on leaving. My legs just weaked and I barely held having the help of strangers until two Club emoyees came out and took over until the SUV csme and they helped me get in. Sandy, driving the vehicle drove me back to the Grand Palms ALF. They came out with wheel chair and got me back to my room. Slept for an hour and drank an Ensure and felt much better. Cleaning lady said she would set up the new Monitor on the desk and I was soon back in business. I could no longer reach the cords to plug in so she did took care of that too. Lucky me! Getting old and out of shape is a pain in the a... Almost 1/2 way to 96.

Mod, last night I spent some time viewing that web site that shows lots of celebrities (2 photos); one when they were young, prominent in their celebrity status; and another photo of what they look like today. Some of them were in their late 90's; some were beyond 100 by a few years. As you know, I'm not many years younger than you. Let's enjoy every day, huh. Chuck Yeager was shown. As you know, he was the pilot that broke the speed of sound in his jet (Oct.14, 1947, I think). He put on an air show for us Cadets (March Air Force Base; Riverside, Calif.). I was there for a quick summer camp … I think it was summer of about 1953. He's now a Brig. Gen., & I think the blurb was he's 95, too. I should recheck that. Arch. |
