I never did it for the burger juices to ebabsorbed. I did it to squeeze the condiments in place and stop falling out onto my clothes!

Articles like this one about how to eat a hamburger are reminders of just how far we have come as a species.
In the 21st century there are ample opportunities for bloggers and writers who feel compelled to tell other people how to eat things or what to eat or what never to eat or what to think about what other people eat or how they eat it. They can share their valuable insights on any number of social media platforms.
In the past, they would have had to share their wisdom with others one at a time, or possibly by hiring a lecture hall, and everyone would have had to travel there by horse and buggy or stage coach or possibly coal-fired trains with sparks flying everywhere (no Uber in those days!). Those methods came with the inherent dangers of being punched in the face or pelted with various forms of vegetable matter. Some of them were probably eaten by bears since most methods of sharing their thoughts would have required going outside. Now they can just pontificate at home in their pajamas where there are no bears or people with fists or vegetables to deploy.

I’m pretty sure we were better off as a species when the less fit (whether because they were unable to outrun a slower member of the species or because their less intelligent ideas caused them to be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail) were regularly culled from the gene pool. Darwin is probably rolling over in his grave.

Darwin is probably rolling over in his grave. Maybe. But then someone like Stephen Hawking comes to mind, so who knows. Anyway, my original comment was intended as sarcasm. I don't really think it's better that it is easier for people to write and disseminate articles telling us that whatever we are doing, we are doing it wrong, even eating. It is possible that we might be better off if people like that were eaten by bears or forced to get real jobs or become otherwise too busy doing something else to share their thoughts with the world. Life is hard as it is, and most of us are doing the best we can already.

I don't mind people reading these things and giving these click bait people some money, but please please don't start threads with these topics causing more people to click on it and read - perpetuating the cycle.
We need to stop the stupid stories on MSN/Yahoo/aggregator sites

Isn’t there done dystopian sci-fi novel or series where people have to prove their worth to society? Worth being measured in a variety of ways, ranging from artistic to athletic to scientific to whatever. Click-bait type authors would have to be great hunters or gatherers in their spare time to make it there. Also, Stephen Hawking would outwit both the bear and the torch-wielding mob. He’s Stephen Hawking. 😉

I’m in a sour mood so...
After so much development and discovery, research and endless hours, days, years of hard work, humans as a species figured out how to feed EVERYONE: give them burgers! But all is for naught since not everybody knows how to eat one apparently !

First, let me make one thing perfectly clear (Yep, I stole that line straight from Nixon ) Wyouser does not just "eat" a burger...…..Nooooo……...Wyouser WEARS them!! If you see me wearing "black"..hey..I'm eating! If you see me in a white shirt....I'm fasting! Same rule applies to hot dogs!

Isn't it amazing how people managed to feed themselves for millennia without the benefit of self-appointed foodie experts to tell them what they were doing wrong. It's a wonder anyone survived.

We need to stop the stupid stories on MSN/Yahoo/aggregator sites I guess I do not know the official meaning of click bait. There were ads off to the side, but the article itself was free of ads spaced throughout the article. If the ads on the side make this a click bait site, then Proboards would also resemble this since the ads are at the beginning of the page.......

Whew, so glad I dodged the hamburger eating debate. Don't eat them so I'll have to wait for the right way to eat shrimp, sushi, gumbo, crawfish etttoufee and so on! I have wondered from time to time if I eat my walnuts the correct way. Waiting on a study coming to me soon via MSN slide show. Eta I don't click on links on this board for a very good reason
