There's something on HLN besides that cheerful chick in the morning and the true crime shows??

I don't think they have any male hosts.
They really don't have much of an identity, especially during the day. I've been wondering for a long time how they make any money. This may be the first step to a sell off, and the new owners can revamp.

I've never even heard of HLN. Guess it's not on our satellite 'group'.

I've never even heard of HLN. Guess it's not on our satellite 'group'. It is what used to be CNN Headline News (hence the HLN). But I guess nobody needed headlines after you can get instant news on the internet.

I used to watch HLN news on weekend mornings until Good Morning America Weekend Edition started airing in 2004. So have not watched HLN since 2004. No need to.

why does that not surprise me in the least? kadee79 - I usually find this channel on in hotels, like during free breakfast. I can't say I've ever sought it out on my own.

I stopped watching them when they completely overhauled their format about 20 years ago. It used to be a half hour of news that would repeat, and new stories were added as they happened. Then they switched to be a carbon copy of every other 24 hour news station out there. But, oh man, that first year they switched was some real shit! They were so trying to appeal to younger viewers it was pathetic - and it didn't work at all because their pandering to youth was so obvious and sad. In fact, it turned away a ton of people, like myself (and at the time, I was the demographic they were going for being in my early twenties).
