Have backgrounds in themes been tweaked?

I have no background images any more, only the background color. I thought at first it might be related to the Chrome update, which I use on my laptop, but Safari on my iPad also has no background images.

ETA: some themes retain images and some don't. I changed 11 different ones and these do not have image:

            Ivy, Fall Leaves, Bluegreen Stone, Rain on Glass, and Water Droplets

These retain images:


            Ghostly, Blue Stone, Snowman, Cloth, Lotus Flower, Ornaments

I did not try all of the theme options.

Looks like there is a bug this morning, as some avatars are not showing, and there are words replacing the avatar, with the spacing of the words being wonky.

Yes, and old posts are affected negatively. The avatar is not in the post, and words are over the dialogue being discussed.

There is a post on the ProBoards Support board about this problem. The answer given is:  If your avatar pic is hosted on PhotoBucket, that's the problem. PhotoBucket doesn't allow it anymore. You'll have to find a new host for your avatar pic, I'm afraid. That's what I did. I've hosted mine on Imgur for the moment and it seems to be working.

but the themes are definitely weird today. I use Ivy and it's just the base green for me.

Don't know about the themes and didn't see anything on Support. Let me take a look and I'll ask over there.

Okay. Taking a look, it's possible the images for the themes are also on PhotoBucket. Not sure about that. Images seem to  have disappeared, as well. I use "tan" and it doesn't have images, so I didn't see that until I looked at "ivy". Moonbeam will know where the images are hosted, I imagine.

A lot of our backgrounds and avatars are hosted on Photobucket, which appears to be down right now. Nothing I can do about it, unfortunately.

Is their sytem only down, or have the avatars been removed as someone suggested earlier?

If the site is down, Value Buy, the images won't show. That's probably why they're not showing if they'd been showing before. PhotoBucket has, however, required a special membership (paid, I believe) to allow their hosted images to be displayed on social media websites. Many folks here lost their avatar pictures quite some time ago when PhotoBucket initiated this requirement. My account on PhotoBucket wasn't a paid account but my avatar picture wasn't affected. Who knows why. I'd been meaning to move it to another host for some time. This prompted me to do so..

Those images missing now may very well come back when the PhotoBucket sites comes back online.

Nickpics and tinypics are both down, as well. No indication of when (or if) they might come back up; at least, not that I can find.

This is the same case for me, so I was wondering if I have to remove the avatar. I do not want to unless it has been removed. If the site is just down, I will wait a few days unless someone here tells me other wise.

Sure, VB. I'd been meaning to move mine anyway and this just gave me the impetus I needed to get 'er done. Waiting a bit seems like a good idea if you don't want to change hosts. There's been no word from PhotoBucket on the current problem that I'm able to locate.  If I find something, I'll post it.

If it irritates you about Themes having no Backgrounds, my theme is on here "Into the Zen". I upload everything straight onto Proboards from my computer, so my theme is intact.

It's green with a bit of purple.

I have had the Ivy since themes were made available. For me, it is easiest on the eyes. I looked at the Zen and it is very nice, but it does lack the grid separating rows and columns and also the alternating light and dark color between different threads and and different posts.

Well, I am seeing things as they should be now, so I whatever was going on with photobucket is resolved.
