Ouch... lol,bad choice of words,Mike----HUCKABEE: I don’t know anyone in America who is a more effective communicator [than David Barton.] I just wish that every single young person in America would be able to be under his tutelage and understand something about who we really are as a nation. I almost wish that there would be something like a simultaneous telecast and all Americans would be forced, forced — at gun point no less — to listen to every David Barton message. And I think our country would be better for it. I wish it’d happen. Watch it: thinkprogress.org/2011/03/31/mike-huckabee-david-barton/

Unfortunately at some of these conventions speakers say what they really believe. Yet they will get on television and talk very democratically and quote the constitution. I have heard some of those types of speeches before and it smacks of neo-Nazism. Huckabee just lost one voter if he should run for office. I have read some of Bartons stuff and I have no use for anyone that clearly goes against the separation of church and state premise.

" I just wish that every single young person in America would be able to be under his tutelage" mmmm, I guess I should be thankful that I am beyond the "single young person", stage, single I am , but the other part, phew, I guess I luck out, so there is a virtual in aging after all. ;D

I'm with you. It's spelled out clearly in our constitution & yet one of our major political parties still has it on their agenda. That plus the stance they take on individual rights (like for gays) is why I don't consider myself a Republican.

One of the most important articles of the Constitution for me, I know all important , but for me this is a biggie, is the "Separation of the State from Religion ", and definitely for gay equal rights, in favor for example of the elimination of DADT and here I am a middle to the left. mmmm Actually I believe most of those with leftest ideas and leanings are too, one of the bull works of being one of those, a lot of live and let live ideas, don't sweat the small things, all equal under the law with all rights given to all , Muslims too, since that seems to be a big item on the agenda today. Rarly ever vote Republican either , usually the other party.

I like Huckabee and I voted for him in the GOP primary. Yes he stuck his foot in his mouth, but who doesn't from time to time? He, just like all of us, is only human. The gun reference just might be a reflection of his southern upbringing. I also grew up in an area where there was a strong gun culture. As kids, you would sometimes hear joking around about shooting each other-but nothing ever happened. I guess it's a good thing that we now have a president who would never force us to buy something at gunpoint-like health insurance?

You don't have to buy health insurance... you just can't bilk the system... Pay your freeloading fee, and move on, if you don't want to buy insurance...

And what if I feel that the 'freeloading fee' is unconstitutional? If I choose not to pay it, then the IRS will sic their agents on me and then all kinds of unpleasantness will follow, and most likely at gunpoint (them pointing the guns at me).

lol... Elsewhere we have people complaining about being forced to pay for the freeloaders... and now we have the same group of people complaining because they can't be freeloaders...

I lost my trust in Huckabee when he dived into the Helen Thomas pig pen head first. When he stooped to her level and told her she is the one that needs to go home and then used the bible to prove who legally owns Gaza,he reminded me of the Taliban,or those bad clerics we hear so much about. IMO,he needs to decide whether he wants to be a preacher or a politican.

Agree, but with the government's propensity to mismanage, steal and abuse, do you really think "everyone" will just pay something and it's going to work? And who is "everyone"? Everyone with a job? Everyone with a certain income? We already have nearly half the populace not paying any federal income taxes, being carried completely by the other half who pay it all...
