Actually, it's called a land line and living within 5 miles of my entire family. I have no need for a cell phone, my teenager has one, but I do not.

I don't have a cell phone, either, Steff. My kids both have them, and their kids have them. I've not found the need for one. I do carry one at work, and when I'm on call, but don't own one personally. Similar to your situation, my family is all within 15-20 minutes of us.

I had one for a few months mmhmm... then realized I was paying $45 a month to text kiddo in the basement. There's just no need for that. 9 times out of 10, if I'm away from the house, I'm with someone who has a cell phone in case I need to be found. I just didn't need one. Now that kiddo is older and off doing his own thing with his friends, he does need one. But I did make him wait until he was almost 16 before he got a cell phone. He didn't need one before then.

I'm usually with my mom, my kiddo or one of my brothers mmhmm...and all of them have a cell phone. And I learned several years ago to always let someone know where I'm at. Kiddo was still pretty young (around 9 or 10) and he couldn't find me in the house. I was out in the garden, but he couldn't see me and I didn't hear him hollering for me. He called my mom...who called my husband at work and my brothers.... I looked up from picking tomatoes to see my whole family rushing into my house because I was "missing". lol

Well, since my avatar is called "KangasKhan" (I suppose a combo of kangaroo and Genghis Khan?) I'm think that cute critter in my pouch is a baby mutant kangaroo.

It seems that due to to abuse, they've decided that they are not going to allow us to choose our own avatars from the web anymore.. Not just us though- they are doing it across the board. Anyway, they provided me several groups of 'theme' avatars to choose from. I wasn't crazy about any of them, but I chose the one that had the widest variety to choose from.

This change will take effect at midnight, and if you had an avatar, your new one is based on some program that randomly assigns them. And yes..I am trying to appeal the decision because I don't think we have ANY that are questionable. Until then, I appreciate your patience.

Starting the "fun" at midnight was--somewhat--of a give away. The shock when I logged in was soon replaced with oh-what-the-heck.
